Happily Ever After

How are you all today? Hope you all had a great weekend. I love the weekends to see people and relax with the family..but I also love Mondays so I can get the house back to spick and span and running smoothly!

Saying that I have had a lovely leisurely coffee with 2 school Mums this morning!!

Anyway onto business!! My card today features the Home Grown Wedding couple called 'Happily Ever After' from Sugar Nellie and again like the previous 2 Mondays, Janny and Dena have use the same image on their cards too. So click on their names to check out what they have done with the image! I am always amazed how gorgeous these girls cards are and how different they are from each other.

I have coloured my bride and groom in prismacolor pencils, blending with Sansador. They have been cut out and popped up on foam squares for dimension. I have also covered the bride's dress shimmerz. The papers are from Magnolia and I love the distressed look edges and gentle colours on them. Can't wait to see what other papers they bring out.

Righteeho..that is about it!!

Thanks for popping by..catch you soon! Don't forget to check out the other girls cards!

Baby Bum

Howdy do all!!

How are we today???..yippee it is Friday!! This week has been a really busy one for husband has been working away. I have had 2 different sets of family staying ..which I have loved but I have just not sat at my crafty table all week !! Shock horror!!

My card today was one that I had made up last week but just not had time to show and tell!! The image is called 'Baby Bum' and most of you will recognise it as one of Mo's digi images. I bought the complete baby set called Diaper Crew, but this is the one that jumped out at me first. I remember my own kids sleeping like this in their cute and lovable and it makes up for the 3 am wakenings :)

Thankfully I am now past this stage!!

Anyway the image is coloured with copics and I have distressed the edges with 'Tattered Rose.' The layout is one that I saw on the Mojo Monday turns 100 Day 7 but didn't have time to use it then. I saved it for future reference!

This card is on its way to a friend who have just had their first baby..they are not readers of my I am safe to show it.

I hope you all have a nice weekend. I hope to catch up with your gorgeous creations then. I'll be back on Monday for a Janny, Dena and Judy card :)

Have a great weekend,

Judy x

Sugar Bowl #18 - Kathy's Sketch

Good Morning! Today is the day for another Sugar Bowl Challenge. Yippee!!

This week we have for you a gorgeous sketch from the very talented Kathy, with the extra option of buttons! So nice and easy for you!

This time the amazing prize is the brand new...not yet released Christmas Manga!! There will be 8 stamps this don't delay , get your entry in now! Here is just one of them that we saw a sneek peek of on the Sugar Nellie blog.

Please excuse the funny angle of my photo of my card....don't quite know how that happened. Looked OK to me before......must have been at a funny angle when I took it!

Anyway, I chose to colour one of the arty Leanne Ellis stamps. This one is called 'Pick Me'. It is coloured with copics and although it is not picked up in the photo I used the Copic clear glitter pen on the leaves and stems of the rose.

The papers are all DCWV 'La Creme' lush. Lots of them are flocked and give a luxurious feel to the card. The red flower I picked up from Hobbycraft when we were on our hols.

I hope you have the time to check out the rest of the girls fabulous work over on the Sugar Bowl. There are lots of peeks of the new Autumn kit. Oh I love it!

Thanks for popping by today!

Good afternoon..and it is a sunny Monday and time again for another Janny, Dena and Judy card and mini blog hop! We had so much fun creating with the same image and sharing what we made last week, we decided we would like to do it again.

This time we chose Sitting Manga girl from Sugar Nellie......I can't wait to see what the other girls come up with.

I had some scrummy blues and yellow/oranges in my Scrapagogo kit this month that inpsired me. The papers are all from Little Yellow Bicycle 'Travel' collection.

My Manga girl is coloured with copics and I have gone over some areas with a Copic clear glitter pen. She is then cut out and matted on the blue cardstock.

The stars are stamped in SU 'Not Quite Navy' and the stamp is from the SU star stamp set.

Anyway I have a lot to do today..catching up from the weekend and I have a busy week ahead. My hubby is away for work all week and I also have family coming to stay later on in the week. Gotta run...

Thanks for stopping by....and leaving all your lovely comments!
Hugs Judy x

Last days of Summer

Good morning!

My card today features one of the fabulous illustrations by Mo Manning which you can buy in her digital shop here. I found it so hard to decide which ones to buy and plumped on this summer will soon be over ;( What an amazing artist she is!

I coloured my image with copics....I'm feeling a little more confident with them now. I think I will build up my collection colour by colour. I first of all bought the Copic Ciao Set A but I found that while I had quite a few colours, they could not be blended well into each other. So now what I am going to do is buy a few pens a month and do it by colour family.

The flower centres have a little teeny dot of liquid pearls and although you can't see it on the photo the little bess have benn colored with a glitter they sparkle!

I tried to keep the layout of the card quite simple as I wanted the illustration to be the focal point. The sentiment was very kindly stamped for me by my talented friend Kathy. The flowers are punched from the MS hydrangea punch, layered together, curled, then edged with ink and a brad added to the centre.

I am going to enter this card into CCT , where the theme is Lazy Dayz and summer themed projects!! I am also entering the card into the Copic Creation challenge which is pink/red. My first time entering there!

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a fabulous day,

Just Magnolia 3D and Mojo Monday

Good morning my crafty friends!! How are you?

My card today is for the Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge , which this month is a 3D challenge shown to us by Debby in her fab tutorial. I followed the sketch on this weeks Mojo Monday Day1 sketch.

I stamped the image 3 times and then proceeded to colour and decoupage the image. It took me one whole evening just to colour and cut the image!! But I enjoyed doing it and love the dimensional effect it gives. The image is coloured with copics and I have added stickles for the wings.I have embossed the main background of my card and then roughly cut the large circles , distressed them and then stitched them together.

To make the ruffled ribbon I stitched down the centre of the ribbon and then pulled the ends of the thread to give the ruffled look! I used my sewing machine LOTS in this card!

Finally my flowers are SU die-cuts which have been curled and inked at the edges.

I decided not to add a sentiment to this card as it is nice to have some blank cards in your collection and also I couldn't decide where to put it!!

Thanks for stopping by!

How are you all today?? Todays card is part of a little mini blog hop!

My dear friends Janny and Dena and I have decided to make a card all using the same image and then to share it and see what we each have come up with. When they asked me to join I thought it was such a fun idea!

This week we have chosen the image 'Believe' by Diane Duda from Sugar Nellie. This image is so cute and quirky and I love it!I made my card using the sketch from this week's Friday Sketcher's. The image is coloured mainly with prismas and white ink pen with some stickles for the wings. The crowns have been stamped on some old book paper and inked with 'Antique Linen' and then cut out and added to the main image.
My papers all come from a pad I bought at my local craft store, Simply Create, in Alford. They are called 'Tilda papercraft' by Panduro Hobby.

Now I hope you have time to pop by to see what Dena and Janny have both created. You will not be disappointed by these taleneted gals! Maybe we might just do the same thing next week!

Before I leave you I just want to thank Janny and Sandra for this gorgeous award. Thanks, I am thrilled to have 'met' you both!
Have a great day,
Judy x

Sugar Bowl #17 My Sketch!

Good Morning!! Today is the next instalment of the Sugar Bowl!! This week it is my sketch and the extra option is DIY flowers. Before we go any further, let me just get it out the way, I FORGOT the extra option!!! Sorry!! My fellow 'sweeties' have all produced some fabulous DIY flowers, so I am bottom of the class this week :)
My card today uses the stunning 'Windswept' by Sugar Nellie. She was initially coloured with prismas and then I wanted some extra depth to the colouring so I used my copics to do this. Not a great idea. The finish after using pencils is quite waxy, so the copics do not sit well on top. Lesson learned!! I have popped the image on foam squares for dimension.
The papers are all Cosmo Cricket and have all been inked on the edges and the layers have been stitched together. The sentiment is a rub-on.
Sorry I have not been visiting many blogs this week. Our Holiday Club has been going well... ..around 70 kids each day. I am responsible for the little ones and by the end of the day I'm pooped! Next week my house and life will be back in some sort of routine.........hopefully!
Thanks for stopping by !

Friday Sketchers and awards

Good evening ladies.....thanks for popping by!! Tonight I have to show you a card I made to enter into this weeks Sketch Saturday. I hadn't coloured any of my Miss Anya's for an age and they are popular with friends who like to buy my cards. I had none left in my box , so I am going to make a start on replenishing them!

She is coloured with prismas and white ink and the edges are distressed with 'Frayed Burlap'. The paper is all October Afternoon and the flowers are cut from the one piece of double sided 12 by 12 paper that the card is made from! The flowers are so simple..they are cut from the paper, then I gently ink the edges, then they are curled with my scissors and a little brad is added to the middle.
The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I again curled it with my scissors to give it a bit of dimension.

I have received a few awards while I was away on holiday and I want to thank the lovely ladies who gave them to me!!
First one is from Sandra, who comes from Zagreb and makes beautiful things! Thank you!

This one is from Danielle. Danielle makes gorgeous cards and her blog is well worth a look! The next award is from Katinka, who is new blogger to me but who is so sweet and supportive and leaves great comments. I look forward to getting to know you better Katinka and thanks for the award :)

Finally, this lovely award is from my friend and super talented gal, Elaine! Thank you for including me in the list of people that inspire you..I am truly honoured :)

Phew, thanks for sticking with me!!!
Back really soon,
Judy x

Great to be home!!

Hiya all! Well, it is good to be home! We had a wonderful time away, but I missed you all!!
I did some colouring while we were away so I have a few cards that I am looking forward to putting together!

First on my colouring list were these fab Manga kids from Sugar Nellie!! I took my copics to practice with while we were away. This card is quite clean and simple for me, but I wanted the image to pop.

All the embellishments on this card, the brads, the chipboard squiggle and gorgeous velvet ric-rac are from a previous Scrapagogo kit. I made the grungey type flower as I didn't have any flowers to match these colours...weird when you have a whole box there is never just the right one for your card!!

We have only one week left here of our Scottish hols and I am involved in running a Holiday Club with our church for the whole of next week. So each morning we are going to be entertaining around 70 - 80 kids with games, stories, songs, crafts and bible teaching! It is going to be full on fun :) We have a great team and it is as much fun working with the kids as it is being part of a team and working together. By the time I come home I am flakers!!

I will chill out when I come home by catching up on all the blogs I have missed while we were away!

Thanks for stopping by! Catch ya soon,
hugs Judy xx

Craft Stamper - Stitching!

Anyone got their Craft stamper this month?? Well, I am chuffed to tell you I have a piece about stitching in it and am very excited to see my main project appear on the front cover!! Woo Hoo!!

I have not yet seen the article inside as my copy is sitting waiting for me at home!
Here are some photos of the projects. I won't bore you with all the details of the materials and how to make them...... you can read your Craft Stamper for all that :)
As you can see I used the fab Diane Duda stamps from Sugar Nellie. All the projects are coloured with prismacolor pencils and I have 3D-ed parts of the image in each project.
This is my machine stitched card. I have tried to show how you can mchine stitch your layers down to secure your card and also to add decorative elements to your card, for example, the butterfly trail.
This is a Tag card...showing some faux stitching around the image and around the edge of the card.

Thanks for popping by. We are on our way home tomorrow, so normal services will resume. Missed you all! It has been a really lovely relaxing family time together. We are now refreshed and ready to go !!

Chat soon, Judy xx
