A Gorjuss girl for Truly Scrumptious

Happy Friday! Hope you are all well.
Today I want to show you another Gorjuss girl! I also wanted to try out the sketch over at the new challenge blog Truly Scrumptious. Great name by the way..makes me think of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

I coloured my girl with prismas and oms in just a minute or two..these girls are so quick and easy! I cut her out and mounted her with foam pads.

The papers and all embellishments are from a scrapbook kit from My Creative Scrapbook. I love ordering kits where all your papers, embellies, ribbon etc match perfectly. The only downside to it as a cardmaker is that you get Valentine stuff in March! Anyway this kits with its rich reds and sultry blacks was perfect for my Gorjuss girl! The valentiney stuff I can pack away until next year!

I thought I would give you an angled view so you can see the bling and if you look closely you can see the black velvet flower! So lush!!

Hope you likey! I love it..so different in colour scheme from my usual cards.

Thanks for all your lovely comments. Hope to visit you all this weekend:)

Sugar Bowl : "It's Christmas"

I love Thursdays..its Sugar Bowl time!! And my little toot goes to playgroup so I get a couple of hours to myself ! LOL!
Well, yes you have seen correctly.....This week dig out your Christmas bits and bobs and get making a Christmas card!!
If you are like me then you have limited crafting space, so on Dec 26th up went all my Christmas stuff in a box and safely stored underneath our bed for another year. So, when I saw this challenge I had poor hubby lifting up one end of our King size bed while I crawled underneath, hoping I would not be flattened underneath, while I retrieved my Christmas box!
I had fun playing with sparkly bits again, but now my box is safely back in its home for at least another 6 months. You hear that Gayle??? No more Christmas challenges!! (you know I'm only having a laugh:))
This weeks prize over at the Sugar Bowl is a whopping great £30 voucher to spend on whatever you like. Now go on girls....drag your Christmas stash out. It will be worth it!!
Now go check out the other girls cards and get your inspiration flowing! You have 2 weeks to create your Christmas card. However on Sunday we will be posting your new Sugar Sugar project, so you have a few more days left to make your tag cards.
Have a wonderful day,
Judy x

Anki's sweethearts take on Ismaki

Today I want to share with you a lovely stamp my friend Anki has sent me. This one is called 'Julia with Purse'. She has currently designed her own range of stamps. You can find these at Susana's Custom Art and Card Design. You will find an excellent service there and Susana is happy to post internationally. Anki has asked me to relay this information to you with regards to your purchases in Susana's online shop.

For International customers - please place your orders through the entire
checkout process and disregard the freight cost. You will receive an email
from Susana within 24-48 hours with the actual shipping costs (whether a
partial refund of shipping or if more funds are needed). You will then have
the option through email to approve or cancel the order with a full refund.

I want to wish Anki every success in this new venture. I know she has been very nervous about this but she has taken the brave step of following her dreams! Well done and I hope the stamps fly off the shelves! They are utterly adorable.

I made this card following the fab sketch over at Ismaki this week, with the extra option of stitching. Well, how could I resist?? When I received Anki' stamps I knew I wanted to make a card for a young girl so I chose girly colours and papers to match the stamp.

Stamp : Anki's sweethearts: 'Julia with Purse', WOJ accessory stamp (grassy background)

Medium: prismas and OMS, chalk, white ink pen

Papers: Imaginisce 'All Kinds of Happy' collection

Tools: sewing machine, MS leaf punch, crop-o-dile

Embellishments: hero arts flowers, imaginese brad, sentiment rub-on, SU Very Vanilla ribbon

Thank you for taking the time to stop by!
Have a great day,

Something Gorjuss for Friday Sketchers

Well, they have arrived..those Gorjuss girls. Can I just say I love them!!! They are sophisticated , elegant and a dream to colour.

My Gorjuss girl is coloured with distress inks, which have grown dusty on my shelf and needed an airing before I forgot how to use them. I have used an inkessentials white ink pen for highlights. I need practice with the hair! Going to go check out some of my super colourer bloggers for tips on how to do hair like Lilian and Marlene!

I have used SU paper and the fabulous layout for this weeks Friday Sketchers. The brads I bought ages ago from a vintage set. Can't remember who by and the sentiment is a rub-on. The flowers are cut from one of the new 3D dies by Quickutz. What do you think of them? For me the jury is still out. Quite funky maybe?

Anyway the jury is definetely not out on the Gorjuss girls. Lets hope there are many, many more to come in the future!
Happy stamping!

Colour Create - Pink and Grey

Welcome to our weekly Colour Create spot!
This week our challenge is to use pink and grey with the extra option of cute and cuddly!
Now I have a wee secret to share. I read my e-mails really quickly, then run through to my craft area all excited, ready to start creating! So, I thought it said pink and BROWN for this weeks challenge! So if you check back to yesterday's card..that is what I initially made until Tara kindly pointed out it was actuallly pink and GREY. So, it was back to the drawing board super fast!

This is what I came up with. I thought this new Sugar Nellie by Elisabeth Bell was pretty cute and cuddly and I have been dying to use them ever since I received them.

Stamp : Sugar Nellie, Penny Black sentiment
Medium: prismas and oms, chalk,
DP: DCWV
Tools : Sewing machine, MS border punch,
Embellishments : BG brads, MM velvet ribbon, embossed corner and label stickers ( from???), self adhesive pearls

Go check out the rest of the DT's work. It is fabulous! I'm sure you will get it right first time unlike me :) So go have a try!

Check back tomorrow and I might have something GORJUSS to show you!

Baby Girl!!

Good morning everyone!
Well the baby boy card I made a week or so ago , well it has been used and sent. My friend had a baby boy called Roddy! A nice Scottish name. Lucky for me that was what I had made. Now I have made a girlie one. I have used the same image from Sugar Nellie called Macbeth, and instead of blue balloons I have coloured pink!
He is coloured with prismas and twinkling H2Os. I have used twinkling H2Os for the background and parts of the ballons. You can't see but the image has a some shimmer.
I have made a pocket card. Behind the image I have put a couple of journalling cards that I got in my scrapagogo kit this month. perfect for Mum to use as a keepsake or add to a scrapbook album.
The papers have been stitched and distressed..ahhh I'm addicted to this....
The sentiment is from Aud Design and you might not notice but there are a couple of charms dangling from the setiment. I should have fixed them before I took the photo!!
Ribbon and lush velvet flower are also from Scrapagogo, the swirl is a doodlebug sticker.
Thanks for looking. Have a relaxing weekend whatever you are doing.

More bubbles than troubles

Good morning...can't believe it is Thursday already. Where has the week gone??? Mine has flown by in a blur.
Theres is a fabulous sketch over at Whiff of Joy this week by the lovely Katharina.
I have not stamped and inked the lovely Oakley for an age and fancied making a boy card. He is coloured with prismas and Sansador . I have stitched and distressed the edges. The sentiment is from High Hopes and fits perfectly with this stamp. I have added some glossy accents to the bubbles and water so I have an angled photo so you can see them!!
My DP is from BG ' Hang 10' collection which is full of boyish and manly colours and textures. I have also embossed and sanded core'dinations cardstock and wrapped some raffia around the background panel.
Thanks for looking!
Hope you all get a little time to stamp today!
Thanks for all your wonderful comments,

Just because ...

I got some new yummy 6 x 6 BG pads and they were crying out to be opened!! I love the bright blues and oranges of the 'Marrakesh' pad. I coloured Tilda with prismas and stamped the French Script for a background. I aged the paper by brushing with Tea Dye Distress ink. Oh I added a bit of stickes to the rose..kinda brings it a bit to life as my colouring was a bit pants on it!
Not much else to say about this card....and not much else to say today. I have the kids at home and must run and take them outside. it feels positively spring like today!
catch ya'all later!

Colour Create #3 - Red, White and Blue

Welcome to another Colour Create Challenge. They are proving to be quite a hit!!
This weeks challenge is red, white and blue with the optional extra theme of 'Holidays and Travel'. Well, this was a challenge let me tell you. I nearly ended up bald with frustration :)
I could not think where to go with this one...then I remembered the 1st EVER stamp I bought was one of a row of beach huts...bizarre choice but there you go!! It must have caught my eye. I think this was the ONLY stamp I have that I could associate with that theme.
So from there I went for a nautical look.
My card base is blue and I cut triangles of red cardstock matted on white. I stitched these all together and it kinda reminded me of a Union Jack or flags at nautical event?? I coloured the Beach Huts with prismas and just had to use a touch of golden yellow for the sand. The Life Ring is a Magnolia stamp and the sentiment is made from Doodlebug stickers.
For the rope edging I punched eyelets all around at 2cm intervals and pulled some chord in and out all the way round and tied at the end with a reef knot.

I decided for the inside I wanted to re-create a postcard look, keeping with the 'Holidays and Travel ' theme. Most of the elements are hand drawn apart from the 'Wish you were here ' sentiment which is Heidi Swapp rub ons.
Hope you are brave enough to join in with us this week. Go check out what the other team members have produced. I'm sure it was only me that was finding it tough...
Thanks for checking mine out :)

Engagment card

Todays card is a request from a friend to make an engagment card for her. Now I love making this style of cards with images to colour and lots of patterned papers but it is not everyones cup of tea. Years ago I used to sell my cards to friends and family and at a local post office and I cringe at them now. A wee thing stuck here and a flower there...but people bought them !!!
Now I have had a few people say to me they prefered my cards when they were not so 'busy'. I just think man..how much have I progressed since then. Even hubbie takes some convincing that I feel I have learned a lot and progressed since my days of decoupage and peel offs... ( I am ashamed to say!!)
Anyway the point of that was I am not sure whether this card will be in her taste..... I shall wait and see and let you know the outcome. I will be able to read it on her face!!
Right..I followed the fabulous sketch on Ismaki this week. My image is quite large so hides quite a lot of the papers...but I still went with it. I stamped two hAnglars side by side and they even look like they might be holding hands! They are coloured with prismas. The papers are from BG 'Bittersweet' collection and are distressed then stitched together. I have stamped an October Afternoon flourish and highlighted parts of it with white ink pen.

For the inside I have followed the same theme and kept if fairly simple...a bit like myself!

Hope you have a great Friday and enjoy your weekend! I am hoping for a little melt of some snow !

Sugar Bowl Challenge #4!!

Good morning every one !

Welcome to Challenge 4! The weeks are flying by! And so many of you are joining in the challenges..must be those fabby prizes...more about that in a minute!
Todays challenge is 1! That is one piece of paper. You can use one that is double sided if you wish :)
I decided to make a gatefold card as I have never done one of these before and it is nice to do something different for a change.
I decided to make my base using Kraft cardstock and I stamped Annie 'Talking to the Birds' onto this cardstock. I coloured her with prismacolor pencils and blended with Sansador. My DP is from Yellow Bicycle and is from the 'Delightful' collection.
I have stitched and distressed my papers and cardstock...can't seem to manage a card without doing that these days...looks bare if I don't!
I used some bare chipboard Maya Road flourishes and covered them with the other side of the DP. They look a bit rough and ready...it is very hard to get it covered perfectly. I sanded the edges to make the edges meet better IYKWIM??? But I didn't have a nail file so I couldn';t get into the little nooks and crannies.
The flowers are punched, with adhesive half pearls added to the centre.
For the inside I carried through the same theme and added a sentiment from Aud Designs!

I used a piece of ribbon to tie around the card so it would stay closed .
Thanks for taking the time to look. Go and check out the other 'sweeties' gorgeous examples. And did I tell you the wonderful prize the winner of challenge 4 will receive......4 packets of Hero Arts sentiments!! Now that is worth entering for !!! Perfect for use with all your fabulous Sugar Nellie stamps :)
So what are you waiting for....go create :)
Thanks for looking and thank you for all your lovely comments. I try to visit everyone who takes the time to leave a comment but my computer is so frustrating..it is always telling me that the 'page is unavailable' Grrrr.... Some days are worse than others.
Anyway have a great day...I'm on playgroup duty, so I will grin and bear it until 12:00!

baby Boy

I have lots of pregnant friends due in the next few months and I thought I would make a start on some cards for them. Now I don't know whether they will have boys or girls so I'll make some of each in the next wee while!
I am going to enter this card into this week CCT challnege ' Metallica'. I have used some metal brads on my card! I was going to add a little teddy bear charm on my card and forgot so will add that later. Duh!
I have innked up this fabulous Teddy bear from Sugar Nellie who is from the Soft Centre's collection. As usual he is coloured with prismacolor pencils. The papers are all from SU and I have stitched them together. The sentiment stamp is another one from Aud Designs that I won on Friday Sketchers. I had added some rub-on here and there both on the inside and outside.

I managed to decorate the inside last night too!! Not always achievable in my little evening craft slots!
Thanks for looking and hope it is warmer with you than with us. It was -4.5 on the car this morning! Brrrrr.
Thank you for your kind comments that you leave. I love reading each and every one!

Colour Create #2

Welcome to the 2nd Challenge on Colour Create! Today the colours are peach and aqua with the use of vanilla / cream if required. My first reaction was 'Oh no!!' I have nothing that colour!
So I had a good rumage around and found some cardstock and some Crate Papers that match todays challenge. Phew!
I have stitched and distressed the edges of the papers and cardstock.
The extra option is to use some DIY flowers, so use your imagaination but not anything shop bought!I decided to make some lollipop flowers which are simply flower punched from different sized circles. I have distressed the edges a little and added a button and twine to the centres.
Instead of the usual image I decided to use this quote I have from the Unity stamp co. which I love and who also have fabulous service to this country.
For extras I have added some flat backed pearls and rub-on flourishes.
Go have a look and see what the other DT members have come up with.
Remember you can combine this challenge with any others you would like to take part in.
Thank you for taking the time to look and I appreciate each and every comment. Thank you!

Whiff of Joy # 17

Good morning and I hope you are all having a relaxing weekend. We are well and truly snowed in this morning! I'm beginning to run low on some supplies and need to get to a supermarket. Don't know if we will make it as the snow is soooo thick! My hubbie took a walk last night to the local shop and it had run out of milk so we are on a couple of cartons of UHT this morning. Bleuch!!
What exciting times!!
Anyway this is the card I made for this weeks sketch by Donalda for Whiff of Joy. I used my favourite image of Melinda in the Rain. I used some papers from a past card kit so I can't say exactly where they are from. This was a really great sketch to follow and I followed it exactly. I used a very large and wide card I had lurking in my box and it was perfect for this sketch.
I just have to mention that the sentiment is from Aud Deisgn which I very kindly received as part of a plate of stamps from my win at Friday Sketchers. I just love the font of it. Wish I could write like that in real life !!
Anyway must get dressed and start shovelling snow so I can get to the shops :)
Have a great weekend my lovelies!

A Spoon Full of Sugar and Papertake Weekly!

Morning all! Finally the snow has arrived in NE Scotalnd. Yippee! What fun we had walking to school...took 45 mins to come home with a 2 year old in tow! Normally takes 5 - 10mins!!

It is really thick but life goes on as normal and it has been snowing all morning. I am half expecting a call fom the school to say it is shutting early...but us Scots are a hardy lot and this is not unusual for us in the winter.

Looking forward to snowman building and sledging at 3:00 when school's out!!

Anyway, to the card. I loved the sketch this week. Thanks Tina! I also have realised I can enter into this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge which is 'Hearts and Fowers'.

I coloured a Hanglar image with prismacolour pencils and Sansador. I finally broke open my BG 'Bittersweet' papers and I'm glad I did..they are gorgeous! I distressed and stitched my papers and then punched lots of flowers with mt EK Success Retro flower punches. I sanded the edges of them to match the look of the card. I found lots of heart shaped brads lurking around so decided to use them for the centre of the flowers.

The sentiment is a rub-on from a sheet of 'Love and Romance' ...from where I cannot remember as I have thrown the sleeve away!!

Thanks for taking the time to look and leave a comment. They make my day brighter! So, thank you to each and every one of you who does :)

Happy Wednesday!

Friday Sketchers

Good morning and hope you are all keeping warm and comfy in this yucky February day!

This is my card for Friday Sketchers using the lovely sketch from Carole. I decided to make a nice clean and simple card.

I have used one of the new stamps from Mary Hall by Sugar Nellie. They are just lovely to colour! I am also on a mission to use up my 'bits and pieces' so I used some papers from a past card kit from Sarah's cards. So I don't know who it is from sorry but it just shouted to be used in a bright and cheery children's card.. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I did decorate the inside but it is very boring so no photo!!

Short and sweet today! I want to thank you all for your advice with regards to my ebay issue. You have given me the motivation to go tackle it!! I have e-mailed her once more to ask for a refund and if I don't hear back today I am going to take it up with Paypal!

Sugar Bowl February Project - Tag Card

This month the project at the Sugar Bowl is to make a Tag Card as designed by Tiets. You will find full instructions on how to do this on here.
I decide to go for 'Maggie in the Rain' , which you can find at Funky Kits, and a blue/brown combo for the front of the card. The circles are all cut with my quickutz cookie dies.
You can skip this next bit if you are in a rush!!! *Warning...Long story!!*
I have a frustrating story to tell you about this.. I ordered the set of full circle nesties and full set of oval nesties in October. I did a craft fair and made enough money for me to buy the full sets. I was really pleased about this as it was a few weeks of hard work getting ready for it!
I saw them on an ebay shop based in America at a good price. They did not arrive and did not arrive. I contacted the girl and she said she would send another parcel. I said if the orignal set turned up I would of course return it. I didn't need two sets and I am an honest gal!
Anyway, now still no sets have turned up. It seems a little suss to me. I contacted her again a couple of weeks ago and she has promised a refund but surprise no refund!!
What will I do next??? I notice I am too late to make a dispute about this...But I was hanging on to see if they would arrive and now I am too late. I don't want to just leave a negative feedback as then I have lost nearly a £100. Any advice welcome!! I feel scunnered and I reallly would like some nesties but can't afford to buy them AGAIN!!
*End of story!*
Back to the card...
Prismacolor pencils and Sansador to blend, lots of core'dinations cardstock, punched flowers and a few blue dew drops and twine to finish!
This is what the back looks like....again lots of circles, lots of core'dinations cardstock, more punched flowers, a quickutz swirl, and some dewdrops!
This is a really fun project and makes a card just a little bit different from the norm. Thanks Tiets for the inspiration!
Hope you can all find some time to have a go. Go look at the other 'sweeties' examples and you have a whole month to send in your entry!
Have a great day,
Judy x

Colour Create

Good Morning to you all and I hope you are enjoying some relaxation over the weekend.

Now have you heard about the new challenge blog starting today???

Well, Tara is setting up a new COLOUR challenge every week! Go check it out here! And it will be a challenge for me at least! I am quite predicatable and tend to stretch for the same colours again and again! She has very kindly asked me to be part of her DT so I present you with the 1st card for the 1st challenge! The cushions are the inspiration, with the optional extra of including butterflies!

I coloured my little Hanglar girl with prismacolor pencils. The DP is from Doodlebug and I stitched all the layers together. What fun! The butterflies are made from an SU stamp, which I stamped onto the patterned pink paper. I then stamped some flourishes and added the highlights with white ink pen. I stuck down just the centre of the butterflies and then folded up the wings to give it some dimension.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Now go and have a try yourself. She has a great prize for the 1st challenge to get everyone started.

Back soon with the Sugar Bowl project for Feb!!
