Friday Sketchers

Good morning!

What a beautiful spring day we have here..washing is out, took photos of my cards outside, walk to school..bliss!

My card is for this weeks sketch by Claudia for Friday Sketchers. Now I have me new nesties (I know I way behind the times!!) I am enjoying making different shapes! So the sketch was perfect.

I haven't used my Gorjuss Girls enough, and set 2 is being released on Fri at 8m on SCS!

Here is a look at the inside. Sometimes I manage to complete the inside, other times I don't. If I don't manage to finish it, I usually get it done before send it. They now loook bare without a matching inside!

Colour Create - Liliac and Blue

Morning all..hope you are not suffering too much from the missed hour of sleep :)

Todays card is a colour combo chosen by Sharon. She chose Blue and Liliac with the extra option of ribbon and swirls. I would normally never chose those colours together but I think they look gorgeous together.

I won't tell you what my hubbie said about poor Tilda's amputated leg ..LOL! I think she looks very sweet running through the open fields on a summers day!

Sugar Bowl #7 - Spring or Easter

Good Morning and welcome to another Sugar Bowl challenge..number 7! This week the challenge

is :

Spring or Easter
We thought we'd give you a choice this week...
Hopefully we have now left winter behind us, and we would like to see a card (or other project), using a Sugar Nellie stamp, celebrating Spring or Easter!
One lucky winner of this challenge, will win the brand new set of 6 stamps designed by reknowned artist
Mary Hall.

I hope you will all join in and Sugar Nellie has some wonderful stamps which can be used for this challenge. I opted for the beautiful new stamp , 'Peek a Bunny' from Elisabeth Bell. I thought she looked a bit lonely sitting there on her own so I stamped her a couple of butterflies to keep her company! The little bunny was already there, but I don't think she has spotted him!

For this card I used a large one as I knew my image was going to be quite big and I wanted to add lots of bits and pieces..so the bigger the better! I took this piccie so you could see the dimension on the card..mmmm..might have to make a box to send this one in!

Well, I hope you will pop over to the Sugar Bowl to have a look at all the other DT cards. They are all stunning.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Easter

Morning all! A bright sunny morning up here with my washing blowing on the line! What more could a housewife ask for??

My card today is for A Spoon Full of Sugar where the challenge this week is to make a card for Easter. I picked this gorgeous new Elisabeth Bell from Sugar Nellie which is reminiscent of more old-fashioned Easters before cadbury Easter Eggs and chocolate bunnies! Don't get me wrong I love all these things..in fact if my kids leave them lying about the house too long...they're gone!

Everything on my card is from a scrapbook kit from My Creative Scrapbook. I have just subscribed to this kit and I love it. it comes all the way from the US but it is worth it. I love having all the co-ordinating elements together in one place. This kits is so soft and pretty and it can be adapted for use in card-making.

I even managed to complete and photo the inside today!!

Right off to clean the hoose!!

Ebay!!! - SOLD!!

I don't know if any of you remember my e-bay problem I mentioned a few weeks ago. Well, I had ordered the whole set of Circles and Oval Nestabilities in October last year,and they had never arrived. I had thought they had gone for ever.

Guess what turned up this morning?? Yes, of course you can guess....my nesties! Woohooo!

Anyway in the meantime I have been stocking up on the ones I had thought had gone AWOL. I was buying one set at a time because I thought I had lost so much money when the first lot didn't turn up so I didn't want to get stung again.

Get Well Soon!

Morning all! Hope you are all ready for a productive new week. Well as us Brits all like to comment on the weather...on Fri and Sat I was in my short sleeves enjoying a bit of spring warmth and this morning we had a snow shower when I opened the curtains!! Seems to have blown away quite fast thankfully! Better get the woolly hats out for the walk to school!!

Right , enough of the weather. My card today is for a friend who is recovering from a major op and I wanted a cheerful card for her. My 1st order from High Hopes came at the weekend and I love them! I followed the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers and I am also going to enter it into this weeks Basic Grey Challenge which is 'Texture'.

I also decorated the insides to match but I had written a wee note before I remembered to take a photo.

Colour Create - Navy, Turquoise and Green

Oh it's good to be back! My mojo has taken a wee while to return! Seems to disappear when it is not in use :) I have a wonderful and special week with my Mum and Dad. They left on Sat and I tried not to shed a tear..just makes my Mum too sad if I cry. Hopefully see them again in a year or two..but who knows??? They had a great time bonding with the boys and my youngest found a special place in the crook of Grandpa's arm. My older two took great pleasure in teaching Grandpa the ways of the Wii. I took them out of school for a day because the importance of having special memories with their Grandparents to me was far more important than 1 day of education.

Anyway, must get back to the card. This week on Colour Create we have the combination of Navy, Turquoise and Green with the option of NO designer paper! Sarita has set us this fantastic CHALLENGE!! Again all the examples on the DT are so different. I hope you can find time to take part. Remember you can combine this challenge with any other you would like.

Celebrate

Now some of the more observant of you and those of you who have been browsing my blog for a little longer might spot that I have done a card similar to this before. But it IS different in some places and it was a last minute request from a friend to make a card for the next morning, so I quickly put this together knowing I had done something similar before. So I hope you don't mind..but friends seem to like these images better that the cutesie ones we all love :)

I am going to be taking a wee bloggy break for a few days. My Mum and Dad arrive today and I haven't seen them for over a year so I am cancelling all 'extras' for the kids and myself and going to spend some quality time with them. I might sneak in to check out your blogs but my crafty stash is having a holiday! I will be back at the weekend for Colour Create.

Colour Create - Red and Green

A Good Morning to you all my lovely bloggers! Welcome to another week for Colour Create. Thank you to you all who took the time to join in last weeks challenge.

This week the colour combination is red and green with the extra option of wings. Remember it is optional! Now I hope the DT have shown you, with their fabulous examples, that it is not only Christmas cards you can make with the combo of red and green. For me this is a first to use this combination outwith that season! Remember as well you are allowed to combine this challenge with any others you might be participating in. There are not enough hours in a day or week to join in with them all.

Just a quickie tonight..lots to acheive before I go to bed! (oh this is being scheduled..silly me!). Hopefully I will have done all my jobs by the time you read this, first on my list is tidy my craft area..can't move. I think a bomb has dropped!

You Lift My Spirits!

Well, my spirits were lifted when the new Spring Magnolia kit arrived! I love these gorgeous images. They are full of butterflies and ladybirds..how cute.

I made this card for A Spoon Full oF Sugar and used the fab sketch by Michelle. Nice and simple.Thanks!

I chose to work with these papers from MM with their great combo of orange, blue and red.

I've kept my card fairly simple but I keep looking at it thinking it needs something else! Top left area looks bare....might add a swirl or something later.

Hope you all have great weekend..I am in spring cleaning mode...not sure how much I'll get done as hubby is on some DIY jobs that need done so I'll be entertaining the kids for a while.

Sugar Bowl #6 - Mother's Day

Woooooooooooooo!!

This is a wonderful prize!! I would love either of those stamp sets!

Now first of all my apologies for the poor piccie! I wanted to show the gift bag and card as a set and my photography skills have let me down. If I get a chance I am going to re-take and edit my post!

I re-decorated a brown gift bag and made a made a matching card. I was inspired by a tag card I saw on Moni's blog a while ago and just adored the pink theme she had going! So I gave it a go, with her permission!

Here is a close up of the gift bag. All papers are BG 'Bittersweet' collection and I have use some of the cardstock stickers also. The letters are American crafts thickers.

My card is made from the same layout (approx!) and the same papers. Again with cardstock stickers and American Craft thickers.

Now, I just need to get a yummy gift for my mum to put in it!! This challenge is perfect timing as my Mum and Dad live in Peru, South America and they are home for just a few short weeks. Otherwise it would have been difficult for her to get this! They are coming up to stay with us all next week so I will be absent from blogging as I want to spend as much time as I can with them.

Spring has sprung!

Todays card is for Sketch Saturday which has again another fab sketch.
I wanted to use my new Magnolia Easter stamps. I bought these from Tabby Crafts, which provided a wonderful service. They landed on the doormat the very next morning, beautifully packaged....just what you want from an on-line craft shop! So they come highly recommended!

I am thrilled that I managed to take my piccie outside in the garden this morning. What a glorious day we have here..hope it lasts.

I was going to mask Tilda but made a mess of stamping the tulips underneath her so had to cute her out and place her on top of them with foam pads. The background of Tilda is made by stamping some flourishes onto card with dusky pink Hreo Arts shadow ink. i then added white ink highlights round some of the swirls and flowers. I the inked the edges for a softer effect.

Colour Create : Yellow, Orange and Green

Well, you might be noticing a theme running through this weeks creations..yup, it is yellow, orange and green!!! Tara set this challenge and I am just loving this combo. Funny I never thought this would appeal to me but I've gone a bit mad with it! I have for the first time used up ALL my DP down to the last bittie! I feel good!

Anyways, back to Colour Create. Now this week you know the colours but the challenge is 'anything but a card!' and the DT have a fabulous array of creations from bags, calendars, down to fridge magnets. Go check them out!

I decided to alter a notebook. Earlier on in the week I was browsing Katy's blog and she had created herself a notebook to write down her wishlist..craft wise, and my idea was born. I am always forgetting what I 'need!' I think I slightly over-embellished but I had fun and it is the first craft project I have made for 'me' so I wasn't too worried about putting too much on it! In fact the more the merrier!

Sketch Saturday

Well it has been a strangely quiet week on the blogging front. The first few days of the week I had a terrible sore throat and aching bones and then just as I feel better, the computer decided it wasn't going to let me play! Afer spending all afternoon onto my ISP who shall remain nameless, the computer miraculously healed itself! So I am back and I have missed visiting you all this week!

I have made a card for Sketch Saturday and I think I make it by the skin of my teeth!

The sketch was great and I like lots of layers so I can use lots of lovely DP. You might notice a theme running through my cards this week. I am loving the colour orange! Can't get enough! And I also want to use all the scraps of paper that are littering my desk. I am going to try and use up as much as I can of my DP before I cut into another. Lets see how long I can keep that up :)

Friday Sketchers

This week at Friday Sketchers there is a sketch designed by the fabulously talented Kristine. I couldn't not have a go!

I coloured in Tilda with prismas and cut her out and popped her on top of the flower, so she has something to sit on. The papers all come from a card kit from Sarah's cards. The flowers are prima and the brads are BG. The sentiment came with a card kit as well and I have chalked the edges. As usual all my edges are stitched together!


I also want to share some awards. The first one is from a very talented young lady called Georgia, who passed this on yonks ago! So sorry for taking an age to post! It is much appreciated.



The next one is from Madge and I am honoured to receive this from such a fabulously creative lady. I am in awe of what she can create. So thank you very much!

Colour Create - Blue / Brown

Welcome to another Colour Create. This week we have the gorgeous colour combo of brown and blue with the extra option of lace and pearls. Great choice!!! I think this was my favourite so far. It is definetely one of my 'go to' colours.

To make the flowers I stamped the cardstock with the SU Friendship background stamp and then punched the flowers and inked the edges. I deliberately left the card with no sentiment so it can be added later on in the inside. The rest of the card is fairly self-explanatory!


We would like to welcome Kim onto the DT! She is a very talented lady so we look forward to seeing her gorgeous creations. Go and check out the rest of the teams fabulous work!

Sugar Sugar Cracked Glass Project

This months Sugar Sugar project is hosted by me!! You need to create a project using the cracked glass technnique and of course a Sugar Nellie stamp!

This is simpler than it sounds. I will explain a little further on for those who have not heard or tried this technique.

I decided I wanted to make a gift box and used the tutorial on Katharina's blog a few weeks ago.

I then chose this Gorjuss girl and coloured her with prismas and oms. I used quite deep and rich colours as you want colours that will show clearly through several layers on embossing.

To make the cracked glass all you need to do is cover your image (once coloured) with versamark ink (or similar ) and then sprinkle with UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) and heat to melt. Whilst it is still hot quickly add another layer or two if desired. Once you have a good thickness on your image. Place in freezer for half an hour and then crack in different directions. Crack as much or as little as you like for this effect. ( You can find full instructions here).

Here is a wee close up!

To the top of the box I've added a punched border with an Martha Stewart punch and then used my crop-o-dile to punch a hole and add an eyelet. I then threaded various ribbon through the hole. The sentiment is a rub-on. Flowers are a mixture of Hero Arts and Prima.
