Summer Milly

Good Morning!

Oh I find myself posting every day...not a habit I am going to manage to keep up though!

Todays card is using one of the gorgeous new releases from Pink Gem Designs. This one is called Summer Milly....you can also have Spring, Autumn, and Winter Milly! But this one is just perfect for those fab summery cards we all love to make. This stamp is one of 9 fabulous new releases for June. Go check out Janet's website to see them all. I am also going to enter this card in to Sketch Saturday! Thanks again for the fab inspiration Jo!!

I was going to colour her in pink and then felt she needed something bolder so went for red. She is coloured with prismas and blended with Sansador. I have machine stitched the layers together. The papers are from SU and are called Summer Picnic. I love this fab range..you'll be seeing a lot more of it.

I just carried the same colours and papers through to the inside. The cherries are a stamp also from SU.

TIOT - Watercolour

Good Morning folks. Today is my last TIOT (Try It Out Tuesday)for Susanas Custom Art and Card Design. It has been a real pleasure to work with the lovely girls on the DT. They have made me feel so welcome. Thanks so much for having me on board this month.

Suzanne from Scrap Bitz set us the challenge of watercolouring. I decided to use Isaac and his skateboard as I needed to make a card for my Son's birthday next week and he has asked for a skateboard!! Thanks Anki for this fabulous image :) I coloured him with a mixture of distress inks and SU markers which I used with a waterbrush. The skateboard has a layer of gloss on it for a bit of dimension.

I have used Basic Grey recess papers which are wonderful to fall back on for a boys card. I am not entirely happy with the layout of this card..I just couldn't get it all to work together. Some cards just happen really quickly and others takes hours of playing and pulling things apart then putting them back together..well this is one of them! But I know my son, Jude will love it!

A confession.....

I have a confession to make.....I bought myself a birthday present. And the thing is my birthday is not till November! LOL!
Can anyone tell what I have bought myself...???

Yup I bought some copics! They have been on my wish list FOREVER and I bit the bullet and bought some. I still have many to collect but for now I will practice with what I have.

I tried them out on this stamped image that I got from Tammi ages ago as she stamped it onto smooth white card. I don't have any card that is suitable for copics yet..hopefully on its way! Thanks Tammi!I have a few more of these stamped images I can use to practice on. I still have a long way to go but I certainly enjoyed colouring adn they are so fast and fun to use.

The card is just a for fun card..no challenges or anything. I cut the sentiment from nestie labels and used a rub-on alphabet. The flowers are from my stash.

Good Morning and how are you all??

Today I am going to share with you my Colour Create Card. This week we have the colours of lemon, pink sorbet and chocolate chosen by the very talented Katy. She has picked the extra option of shabby chic. The DT cards this week are totally fabulous. The girlies come up with some beautiful interpretations of shabby chic.

For my card I have used one of the absolutely stunning new deisgn by Leanne Ellis which you can get over at Funky Kits. It seems that quite a few of the Dt have chosen to go with one of these stamps..very popular!! The one I have used is called dream. When I showed the coloured image to him he said it was 'curious!' But I LOVE it...something so elegant about them and grown -up. She is coloured with prismas and I have machine stitched all the layers on todays card.

The papers are K & Co and I wanted a country fabricy kind of feel to the papers..hence the sewing and distressing. The swirl is painted with Distress Crackel paint. Great stuff..dries hard with a cracked finish..perfectly aged without having to do a thing!

A big shout to Paola who leaves the most wonderful comments and she doesn't have a blog so I can't return the favour, thanks Paola...I appreciate the time you take to come by and be so encouraging!

Hope you all have a very happy and restful Sunday. I am teacbing Sunday School today and I have a wonderful class of 7 and 8 year olds who are so polite and eager to learn. Then hopefully the sun will shine so we can spend some time outside:)

Good evening one and all! Thanks for popping by! Hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend. no Bank Holiday for us here in Scotland...BOOOOOOO! But the kids did have a inservice today...YEAHH!!!!! ( I think!)

The card I am sharing with you today is one I made as a commision for a friend. She wanted a 40th and I reckon the Miss Anyas are perfect for the occasion! I am also going to enter this into A Spoon Full of Sugar Anniversary Challenge which is a celebration and also into Double Dutch who provided the fabby sketch!

I used some gorgeous papers from My Minds Eye 'Penny Lane' and have coloured her as usual with my prismas and stitched the layers with my sewing machine.

A wee close up..a bit squinty I know!

I have NOT done the insides of the card as she asked for a card in my 'cheaper' bracket!! I had to laugh.....or be offended! LOL! I never know what to charge for my cards. I sometimes want to ask for a fiver for cards with lots of embellishments and decorated inside and out. Sometimes that even seems a little for the amount of time that goes into a card. But if you asked for a fiver people's jaws would drop! Never mind how much a handmade card would cost at M & S!

Anyway to keep this in a 'cheaper' bracket without compromising on my style and quality I decided to keep the inside plain. Incase you are wondering I asked for £3! I would love to hear what you charge for your cards?? And where and how you sell them!

Thanks for having a wee look and on a more personal note I am very very excited becausewe have just booked tickets to visit my sister who lives in the Phillipines and I have not seen her for nearly 3 years . I am so looking forward to being with them for a whole MONTH and getting to know my neice and nephew again. It is going to be such a special time for both of our families. Anyway it is not till next March..so lots of time to save and anticipate!!

Sugar Bowl #11

Good Morning my lovelies! how are you today? Thanks for stopping by and I love it when I have a Sugar Bowl card to share with you.

This week we have a fabulous sketch from Kathy who is a talented card maker and a amazing sketcher to add to that!! The extra option this challenge is to include metal.

This week we have a fantastic prize for you if you join in with us. The prize for this challenge is...a 6 stamp pick and mix! Yes, one lucky winner gets to choose 6 Sugar Nellie stamps from the current catalogue!

For my card today I have taken inspiration from Kim Costello's fantastic article in this month's Craft Stamper mag. If you haven't seen the article she gave a tutorial on colouring a black and white image. I fell in love immediately. I also love to try something new!

I coloured Daisy as I felt there were lots of places to highlight and shade. I added a bit of colour to the flowers. For this I used a fabby new product called Smooch! Which you can get hold o here. It is pearlized ink and comes in bottle that look like nail varnish. Lots of fun to use :) And for the centre of the flowers there is teeny weeny bit of liquid pearls!

The papers I have used are a hodge podge. I raked around to find the monochrome papers I had and made a right mess!

For the metal option I used lots of brads and finally the sentiment is a rub-on.

Mmm.not sure why this photo looks a bit funny. I think it is hard to capture the true colours of these kinds of colours. Anyway bit of a boring inside.

Just because ...

Hello and today we have another TIOT (Try it our Tuesday). Fro those of you new to this challenge, it is the challenge blog of Susanas Custom Art and Card Design. The name of the blog is Follow Your Heart.

Well, the theme of this weeks challenge is flowers..flowers in your images, flowers as embellishments and maybe even flower soft!

I have used as my image another one of the cutie images from the Victoria Case Hearts and Hugs Collection. She is called...'Nuts For You!' and is available exclusively at Susanas store.

She is coloured with prisma colour pencils and I have added little tiny sparkly crystals to the middle of the flowers. It really brings the image to life!

All the papers I have used today are from the BG 'Marrakesh' pad. I just loved all the shades of blue available. The layout I have used is from this weeks Ismaki challenge..thanks ladies for a great sketch! I have used my little mini machine a lot in this card...some nights I just can't leave it alone :)

The flowers are all from my stash with a little bling in the centre and finally the sentiment is one of the 'Susanaments' designed with this Hearts and Hugs Collection in mind.

Cutie Pie!

Good Morning!

This card I have made using the Sketch Saturday layout and my 1st card for the Pink Gem Design team. I have used Bathtime Mimi which is availabale from Pink Gem Designs. Isn't she just adorable?

I have coloured her with prismas and added Baby Blue stickles for some sparkle to the bubbles.

The flowers are all made using different sized retro flower punches with brads and spacers.

I notice now that the charm was swinging as I took the photo..it says: 'made with love!'

The inside is quite simple...a bit like myself! LOL! I just carried through the same embellishments and papers from the front.

I haven't got much chat today..just gotta run and do all the chores after the weekend. you know what it is like!

Colour Create - Sky Blue, Tan and Ecru!!

Good Morning my crafty friends and welcome to another fabulous colour combo from Colour Create. This time it is Heather's turn to pick and she has chosen sky blue, tan and ecru. Fabulous...with the extra option of gloss, glitter or glaze ( or all 3 if you wish!!).

Once again you must have a look at all the wonderful creations from the DT..stunning this week and such a great variety!

My card today I have made using mainly SU patterned papers ( Bashful Blue) and I borrowed the layout from last weeks Friday Sketchers. as it was so fab!

The layers have all been stitched together and for the extra option I have added shimmerz to Tildas dress and to all the flowers. Why can photos not capture this? You will have to take my word for it! The swirl is a quickutz die which I have chopped to size.
And as usual my lovely sitting Tilda has been coloured with prisma pencils and blended with Sansador.

I hope you have a lovely Sunday. We are off to church in a bit then out for lunch with friends , where there will be lots and lots of children ( I count 10 in my head!) and lots of good food and company. Lets hope the rain stops so we can put the kids out in the garden. I will catch you all later on on the day!

Now my card today features Alexa and is called 'Love and Peace'. I hope you like her!! I coloured her with promarkers and added some dimension to the flowers with liquid pearls. I have lightly distressed and inked the edges of the image. The Papers I have used are Pink Paislee and one of the panels is embossed and sanded with coredinations cardstock.

The sentiment is of course one of Susanas and can be bought right here!

Miss Anya For Sketch Saturday

Wasn't it a glorious day?? Wow..I think we all need a bit of warm sunshine to make us feel good and put a bit of colour in our pasty face...especially us Scots who rarely see the sun!! Makes us appreciate it all the more!! I even managed to take these piccies outside in the evening sun.

Today my card is for Sketch Saturday where they have a fabulous sketch. Thanks Jo! How do you keep comng up with them week after week?

I coloured my last of my Miss Anyas that had not seen ink and I used up some scraps of BG Marrakesh paper I had lying around on the table not put away. Some days I seem to spend as much time tidying up and finding homes for things as I do creating. My table gets in a bombsite so quickly..please tell me I'm not alone?? My problem is that it is my dining table and it is on show so I have to keep it half decent and put things away in the cabinets around the table.

Try It Out Tuesday

Well today is something new for me. As I am Guest Deisgning for Susanas Custom Art and Card Design, they have each Tuesday on Follow Your Heart, 'Try It Out Tuesdays'. This week we have a sketch which can be interpreted creatively...but must include no rectangles or squares i.e. a shaped card. Eeeekk...right out of my comfort zone.

I have not been very creative and have interpreted the sketch quite literally. I cut the circle and the scalloped circle from my nesties and my hubbie who is quite mathematical and precise drew me an octagon. Thanks sweetie!

I coloured one of Anki's Sweethearts with prismas and blended with Sansador. The sentiment is from Aud Deisgn and is made from different sized circled punches scrunched and then distressed slightly at the edges. The edges of the background paper I have lightly distressed and stitched.

The metallic dewdrops can be found in Susana's store and I love them to give your card a bit of extra sparkle.

A Bundle of Joy

Good morning and what a glorious morning it is! How happy can a girl be..2 loads of washing blowing in the breeze and coffee outside in the garden with a hysterical 2 year old screaming about flys that are going to sting him!! Oh I tell you..what a boy! So we are back inside with Balamory and me with a little computer time!

Righ tee ho..onto the card. This card was a comission for a friend and as I did not have much time to make it I decided to use a photo sticker that has been languishing away in my basket since I discovered stamped images. I wasn't very sure how this was going to work out..but I am quite pleased with it.

I used the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers and DCWV 'Nanas Nusery' Baby Girl collection. The sentiment is a rub-on.

Colour Create - Blue and Green with a dash of paper piercing!

Good morning!

For this week at Colour Create we have the challenge of blue and green with the extra option of paper piercing.

I decided to go for something a bitty different this week and avoided the coloured image. I had so much fun doing this..I will certainly try it again. It was really refreshing!

I picked out some blue and green papers and got stamping!! I paper pierced the flowers, the bird and the butterfly. And just for extra fun and dimension I hand -stitched the border and the butterfly trail. The trees are stamped on old book paper, which my dear hubbie is shocked at. he is a book hoarder and will not thow out or give away ANY book...even ones we have read and used.

The sentiment is computer generated and is attatched to the card with a brad. I also added shimmerz to the flowers and butterfly which I bought from Susanas store.

Just a wee angled shot to show you the dimension on the card.Thanks for having a wee lookie. The other girlies have done some inspiring work this week, so go get paper piercing!!

Sugar Bowl #10- A Sketch!

Good Morning and Iapologise for the lateness of my post. Computer issues again!!! I have a very patient friend who is allowing me to post on her computer again. So once again I will say..who knows when I will be round to visit you..hopefully very very soon!

Right onto todays card. We ladies at the Sugar Bowl have a little announcement to make:

"We have decided, due to popular demand, that we will move forward as a sketch challenge.
We will now be providing a sketch for you to work with every challenge.
This will allow you to make a card or other craft project which suits your needs, male, female, birthday, thank you, Christmas...anything, as long as it follows the sketch, which you may rotate, elongate or resize.
OF COURSE IT MUST INCLUDE A SUGAR NELLIE STAMP
There will also be a 'please include' section to the challenge, which will guide you on what we would like to see on your cards.

I made by card today by colouring Annie from one of Leanne Ellis' designs. I do love these quirky girls. As usual she is coloured with prismacolor pencils. All of my papers are from a Scrapagogo kit.

I wanted this card to be one I could send to a friend I have not caught up with for ages and be like an invitation to have a blether together. Again the inside is made with papers from the Scrapagogo kit. Oh I do love these kits..highlight of my month when they arrive :)

Not much else to say about the card..the layers are stitched together and the sentiment is made from American Craft Thickers..oh I love them too!!

Friday Sketchers

Hello! Todays card is for Friday Sketchers and I loved the sketch. I inked up another of the Miss Anya's who I am just loving.Have you seen the new set that is out on May 15th?? They look fabulous!

This is going to be short and sweet. I have just got in from a playgroup trip to the farm, and with it being a Bank Holiday yesterday I have got mountains of washing to do from the long weekend. It never ends!!

Most of my papers etc are from the latest Scrapagogo kit. The card blank is from the Greetings Kit and was a perfect size for the sketch. All the papers and the sentiment also come from the kit.The flowers are made from the retro flower punches with a few pearls and brads added.

Colour Create - Chocolate, Red and Cream

Yeah...I'm back to normal!! My internet has been fixed and I am very haapy to get back to blogland!

This weeks challenge at Colour Create is Chocolate, Red and Cream...good enough to eat! the extra option is ribbon. Thanks Mina..a lovely combination!

My card this week looked much nicer in my head than it did in real life!LOL! But that is life..sometimes it works the other way around...better than you had imagined. The girls on the team have done a fabulous job this week and lots of lovely altered items to look at and this seems to be the week almost all of us have chosen a Magnolia!

For my card I have used one of the new Tilda images..I think I am not happy altogether with my colouring.....

As usual I have done bit of stitching in my card and for the ribbon option I have added 3 tabs of brown ribbon onto the side of the image. I also added some lace...does it count???

Sugar Sugar Door and some News!!!

I apologise in advance for this long post and also for my absence! I have had a frustrating week. Since Monday my computer has mysteriously had no internet access. After many hours on the phone and lots of tearing hair out I am still internet less! I am currently hogging my friends PC as I knew I had lots to show and tell today! Don't know when I will get a chnace to be back!

Please forgive me for not coming by your blogs to say 'hello' but I promise to be by as soon as we get the problem sorted out with the PC.

Anyway onto todays cards etc. First up is Sugar Sugar and this month Gayle set us the challenge of making a door hanger. So I decided to make a matching card and door hanger for my son Daniel's best friend, Jessica.

This was fun to do..I used one of the girls from Gorjuss 2 collection and used the same papers and embellishments for both. Please forgive me if I don't have all the details as I am away from home and all my papers etc are there!

Next is onto my news!! I have been asked to do a Guest DT spot at Susanas Custom Art and Card Design and I was delighted to accept. So today I am going to show you a card I made using Babs by Rubber Romance which you can find over at Susanas shop.
