Hop Hop Hoppy Birthday!!

Good morning to one and all! Hope you all had a lovely wekend and for those of us in the UK...are enjoying the soaring temperatures. It is quite cloudy here today but very muggy.....hopefully the sun will peek through later.

Onto the card..I am using a fab image and sentiment from Pink Gem Designs. I am in need of a little boy's birthday card and when I saw this image I knew it would fit the bill perfectly. I have coloured it with prismas, but used copics for the background. I have 3D the image for some dimension and added white ink pen for highlights.

I have followed the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday and flipped it around to fit the image. The papers are Basic Grey 'Hang 10' collection, which are my 'go to' papers when I need a masculine card. I have embossed a piece of core'dinations cardstock through the big shot and distressed the edges for the main panels.

The tag was a blank 'Hero Arts ' one on which I have stamped, with SU 'Old Olive' ink, lots of stars and mounted the sentiment on top.

The inside is decorated with the same papers and embellishments.

After my demo day at Simply Create a lot of people were asking where they could get hold of prismacolor pencils.....well, I have just found that Crafts U Love are stocking tins of 12 and 48 , as well as stocking paper stumps!! Woo Hoo!! This is great news as they can be pretty hard to find.

Good morning. How are my lovely blog readers today?? Thanks for stopping by! I know your time is precious, so I appreciate all the lovely comments you leave! I am just enjoying the last few days before the summer holidays begin. I know my crafting and blogging time will be severly curtailed during the hols. I will still manage a little bit of time , of course!!

Todays card is a stair fold card which I will be entering into this weeks challenge at The Next Level. Each week their projects look so great but I just have not had a chance to enter yet. All the instructions for this card are found on their site.
I coloured 2 summery hAnglar girls with my usual prismas and cut them out and pop dotted them on the card. The gorgeous polka dot paper is from 'Little Yellow Bicycle' and I am very sad as I only have a few scraps left. Each panel is machine stitched onto the card.
I made the tag, (which is not perfect, but I will stick with for now!) by embossing the sentiment with white embossing powder and then using distress inks, blended the colours to make the background. The distress inks resist the embossed sentiment so the sentiment stands out. I stamped some brown flowers from Hero Arts onto the tag.

Friday Sketchers and awards

Good Morning!! Hope you are all well. I have a little boy home from playgroup today with ear-ache. But it is quite nice as they are usually quite cuddly and quiet when they are not quite themselves. So we will have a cuddle on the sofa later :)

Todays card is for Friday Sketchers using another of the fabulous Diane Duda stamps from Sugar Nellie. She is as usual coloured with prismas. This time she has a little sparkle for her wings. Oh I see I left the crown of the cat white..have to go back and sort that!!

The image is cut from nesties leaving a little piece popping out the frame. This is a lovely technique I learned from the lovely Rach.

I made the script background paper myself!! I stamped the magnolia script background in brown Staz-on ink and when it was dry I used my blending foam and covered it with Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain distress inks. I am quite pleased at how it turned out. I used the scraps left over for the flowers on the inside and out. An inside using up scraps and keeping a similar layout from the front.

I have also to share some awards. Thank you very much to Sandra for this award. She is from Zagreb and has very limited crafty supplies, but what she does with them is so creative. Thanks for your sharing your ingenuity with us!

And thank you to Janny for this fabulous award. Her blog is a joy to visit and so much inspiration! Diane Duda Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to the massive Diane Duda Blog Hop!!!

Today is the release of the new Diane Duda stamps at Sugar Nellie...wooooo hoooo!! So to celebrate in style we are having a massive blog hop. If you have visited just me you can carry on the blog hop from here.....just visit the blog linked at the bottom of my post to carry on and see the rest of the release and keep going till you reach the end ,(by then you will have come a full circle!) and have seen all the fabulous images and by then I'm sure you will want to visit Funky Kits where you can purchase these for yourself!! LOL! Or you can start at the beginning by visiting the Sugar Nellie blog!

Now I decided to try something a bit different today! I have had acetate gathering dust for an age and I decided now was the time to use it.

So i stamped with Staz-on white ink onto the acetate with my hero Arts Design Block then sprinkled some glitter before it dried. After it had all dried I added some liquid pearls to the flower centres for some dimension.
Inside the acetate layer I have added a layer of pale blue card. I stamped my cartwheeling girl direcly onto the cardstock and coloured with copics. The pencils didn't work so well on the textured cardstock.

I wanted it look like from the front she was cartwheeling through a wild meadow!!

The inside is quite simple..a few stamped butterflies and a continuation of the sentiment.

So this is something a wee bit different for me but great fun to make!

Sugar Bowl 13 -Beautiful!

Good Morning !!

Welcome to another Sugar Bowl sketch. This time Lilian has drawn the fabulous sketch and she has picked the extra option of using Kraft cardstock. If you don't have Kraft cardstock please feel free to use brown or cream.

And the fabulous prize up for grabs this time is......Gorjuss set 3!! Man, I wish I could enter!LOL!

Onto the card. ... I coloured one of the new Leanne Ellis designs. I just love them..such a grown -up feel about them! Again this is coloured using prismas and blended with Sansador.

The papers I have used are K &Co 'Wild Raspberry' . I loved the hot pink and turquoise combination...I will be back again and again to this pad!

The funky flower is made from kraft cardstock and remnants of the DP. I saw this orginally on Dawn McVeys blog and fell in love with it..so had a go myself!! The brad in the centre is a vintage style brad..can't remember where I found that!!

For anyone who lives locally in the North East (Scotland that is!!)......if you are free pop along to Simply Create in Alford on Saturday, as there is going to be a Sugar Nellie event happening and yours truly is going to be there doing a spot of colouring and showing some techniques!! Hubby's Birthday

Morning everyone! How are we all today??

Todays card is for hubbys birthday tomorrow. I didn't have any male images grown up enough for him so decided to go on the hunt for digi images. I found this fabulous Mikey from Carmed Crafts andI think he fits the bill perfectly. He kinda reminds me of hubby when we first met..he had bleached blond floppy hair! Nowadays it is the more traditional short back and sides!

He is coloured with prismas. He originally had grey trainers which blended in quite well and in a spur of the moment decision I decided the image needed a flash of colour so changed his trainers to red. I just wish I had kept them gey!! Too late now!

The papers are from Basic Grey 'Granola' collection and the screw brads are from e-bay. That fab jute is from Nikki's new on-line shop, Bunny- Zoe Crafts. Fab servive Nikki! Thank you!!

Friday Sketchers

How are you all today? Hope your weekend is going well so far. I'm just back from a cycle with my 8 year old and we had lots of fun. I haven't been on a bike for yonks! Must do it again soon!

I made this card using this weeks Friday Sketchers. I had Tilda all coloured just ready to go on a card. I want to thank Rach for the clear and simple explanation of how make Tilda pop out of her nestie frame. The first time I did it I lopped off her head but after checking out Rach's tutorial I got it right! Thanks so much!!
I wanted a vintagey feel to this card so I sewed the edges and then distressed them. The flowers are all distressed with Distress Ink. I also wanted to thank Janny for the insipiration for my sentiment. I saw her using the Tim Holtz tickets in this way a wee while ago and loved it. So thanks so much for the inspiration!! So not much on this card I can claim for my own eh??

What is a girl meant to do with all this fantastic talent out in blogland???..can't ignore it. I think we all bounce ideas off each other in the end! Off to cook tea and have a quiet Sat evening...hope the telly is good!

Truly Scrumptious Ketto

Good Morning ..how are you all? Hope your not drowning under all this rain we have been having! Only just over 3 weeks of term left for us in Scotland and it feels like summer is sooo far away. Get the rain over and done with before the kids finish at school!

My card today I'm going to enter into this weeks Truly Scrumptious which has a lovely sketch and an extra option of altered flowers. I liked the sketch as I could use up some of my card blanks which are not my standard 6 by 6 squares.

I also used an image kindly sent to me by the lovely Tara G. Are those Ketto images so funky?? These are so tiny..is funny working with a dinky little image.

The flowers I have punched from Retro flower punches and I have altered them by distressing the edges with ink and curling them to make them more 3D.

A Bundle of Joy!

Good Morning! Just a quick 'hi' today. Got a busy day with lots to do and people to see!! Coffee with some school mums this morning, a friend from Norway is arriving this afternoon with her kids to play and then a meal out this evening without the kids! Phew!

I started out making this card following a sketch and then I abandoned the sketch to do my own thing! The stamp is called 'Baby Boy Bundle' and is from Pink Gem Designs. It is coloured with prisma pencils and then cut out and mounted onto kraft cardstock. I have 3D-ed parts of the design for some dimension.

Miss Rain Anya and an award

Hello and how are you all today?

I've made this card for Friday Sketchers using their fabulous sketch and I used Miss Anya from the new releases. I bought mine from Tabby Crafts which has the most fantastic service. I bought this one afternoon and I was colouring it the following afternoon. I highly recommend Tab's craft shop and customer service. It's five star!!

I coloured Miss Anya with my prismacolour pencils and have stitched all the layers together. I have made the sentiment tag from chipboard. I painted it in white acrylic paint and then inked the edges with distress ink and the sentiment is a rub-on.

The gorgeous yellow-orange flowers are a gift from the fabulously talented Tara G. We did a little image swap and in my envelope were some fabulous flowers. Thank you so much Tara! Isn't it wonderful to have bloggy friends all over the world???

The inside is some of the papers and colours carried through. Simple!

Painting Rainbows

Last Saturday I managed to get the chance to take a wee drive to Alford , to the opening of Simply Create, a gorgeous new craft store owned by Jacqui. It was so stylish....all decked out in black and pink and enough cupcakes to last a month!

As I was browsing the shelves I came across this stamp I have been wishing for since the release of the 'Country Cousins', but this one has always been out of stock..and it is my favourite. So I was thrilled to see it on Jacqui's shelves. Yeah!!

So I have finally had time to play. I am going to enter this card into a challenge I have not taken part in before..Everybody Art Challenge. They have a great sketch to play along with this week and an inspirational design team.

I have coloured her with prismas and machine stitched parts of the card. The papers are DCWV 'Green Stack' and are full of gorgeous colours. The sentiment is 'Hero Arts' and the flowers are prima.

The inside is just very simple..a carrying through of the papers and colours.

Sugar Bowl - Sketch by Lia

Wooooo ..a card at last! I have had a mega sore throat the past day or two and it has zapped me of all my energy. I still feel a bit wiped but hopefully the mojo will be in full swing next week!!

Todays card is made for the Sugar Bowl, using a fabulous sketch by Lia and the extra option she chose was blue and green.

I chose to colour one of my Gorjuss girls from set 2 and continue to practice with my new copics. I decided to go for a strawberry blonde look ( or maybe she is just ginger!), as I always tend to plump for mousy brown when it comes to hair colour. The image is not perfect but I was trying out different techniques. I might go back to my pencils for a while! LOL!!

The card is made using a mixture of scrap pieces of paper from a past Scrapagogo kit. The big paper flower is one I bought from an Etsy shop a while ago. Fab isn't it? I was delighted it matched in so well with this challenge. The doily is a gift from Deb, which I have gently sponged with an SU Old Olive inkpad. Thanks Deb!

Mind you it would get a bit soggy in the first shower of rain ..bleugh! We've had fun while it was there!

Sorry folks I have just not been around the last few days. Life has been busy busy busy!

The wonderful weather has made it really hard to drag myself indoors and when I have managed to create I have been making for a mag deadline. Whoooo hooooo!!

Then to add to my troubles my PC has utterly and completely died so off we were down Pc Woeld looking for a bargain. Anyway I am back online..but I have lost ALL my e-mail addresses.

So to all of you who contact me by e-mail can just drop me a line to say 'Hi' and I will then have your address again. Thanks a bunch!!

I have also lost all my photos of my life and cards..so thankfully my best ones are also on facebook and my cards are on my blog! So not such an emergency.
