Raven - Sugar Nellie DT

Happy Monday Morning! How is everyone today??

Last day of November today and we have woken up to a very light covering of snow on the ground! Winter has arrived! The kids are also off school for an in-service day so I shall be wrapping them up warm later and taking them out for some fresh air.

Finally I am able to show you a card...feels like an age! I was very fortunate to receive the new Sugar Nellie 'Sugar and Spice' collection which is available now to buy at Funkykits. I love these girls! Perfect for all seasons!

I chose to colour 'Raven' first and went with some Autumn colours...just to enjoy it before the next month flies away with us. She is coloured with copics and highlighted with a Inkessentials white ink pen.The papers are all Bo Bunny and have been distressed at the edges with my fingers and a distressing tool. Flowers and raffia are from my stash and the big chocolate pearls can be found at Quixotic Paperie. The sketch I have followed is from this weeks Create4fun so I shall be entering it there.

Quixotic Paperie #4 - Tearing!

Good Afternoon and welcome the 4th Quixotic Paperie Challenge. This week Kim has chosen the theme of 'Tearing', so a nice simple one to take part in.

Thank you for all your entries last week and they will all be entered into the draw to take place next week for the £20 Quixotic Paperie voucher.

I think I am going through a scrappy phase! I am really enjoying making cards with a more scrappy look. They are certainly coming together a bit quicker than my usual matting and stitching! So maybe in this busy card making season I will be doing a few more! My inspiration from this card is from the very talented Inge. I love her cards!!


Colouring is done with prismas and all the edges are inked with 'Frayed Burlap'.


The image is Miss Anya from the original set and the papers are MME 'Life Stories 2' collection, both available from Quixotic Paperie.

Hello everyone on this wet dreich November morning!! I hope it is brighter and sunnier wherever you are! But hey ...I am going to achieve lots today...order some Christmas presents, parcel and post some parcels to my family abroad.

It is that time of the week again when Janny, Dena and myself share a card where we have all used the same image. This week we have chosen 'Hello Sunshine' from Ladybug and Friends, which you can buy from Quixotic Paperie if you are in the UK.

My image is coloured with prisma pencils and the papers I have used are all DCWV 'Crafty Stack'. Love the colours in this pack! Flowers are all punched using retro flower punches with a little copper brad in the centre.

Friday Sketchers - Merry Christmas

Hellloooo everyone! How was your weekend???

I have had a little time to colour and play over the weekend and decided to have a go with the latest challenge at Friday Sketchers.

I don't often get the chance to play with my Magnolias so I was pleased to be able to colour one from this years collection called Silent Night Tilda. She is coloured with prisma pencils and highlighted with lots of stickles.

The papers are all Bo Bunny and I have machine stitched all the layers together. The sentiment is also Magnolia. It has been stamped on Kraft cardstock and then crumpled a little for some dimension.

The flowers are from my stash and the lovely vintage flower centre I bought at Simply Create at the weekend. It was lovely to meet both Karen and Wendy who were there doing a bit of crafty shoppping! Hello ladies :) I was there droppping off my samples for my next class which is on the 5th Dec. You can see the sneek peeks on Jacqui's blog here.

Sugar Bowl # 24 - Marlene's Sketch!

Good Morning and welcome to another Sugar Bowl Challenge! This week the very lovely Marlene has drawn the sketch and has given us the chosen option of zig-zags! So you could use zig-zag stitching, ric rac or anything else that includes a zig zag and one lucky winner will be winning the brand new ' Sugar and Spice' set of stamps that have been previewed on the Sugar Nellie blog this week. All 7 of them!!! Woooooo hooooo!

For my card today I have used one of the new Annie stamps by Leanne Ellis called 'Annie with Present'. She is coloured with copics and little highlights are done with a white ink pen. I have used prisma pencils for the background...though I admit it is not done perfectly when I see it on a photo!! I will be back to blend it in a little bit better!!


So my zig-zags are the ric rac and my zig-zag stitching!

The papers are all MME Signature Christmas which are available from Quixotic Paperie. The ric - rac, buttons and sparkly white thingys are all from my stash!

Quixotic Paperie #3 - Joy to the World

Hello crafty friends!! Hope you are well today!

Welcome to the 3rd Quixotic Paperie Challenge!! This week it is my turn to chose the theme and I have chosen the colour combo of Kraft and Red. If you don't have Kraft cardstock feel free to substitute it for brown.

Remember you can combine this challenge with as many others as you like and all entries will be in with a chance of winning a £20 gift Voucher from Quixotic Paperie!!

Today for my card I have gone for something a little different! I have used lots of embossing , painting and distressing on this card....i.e lots of mess!!

For the Kraft background I stamped the Magnolia Silent Night Stamp in Versamark ink and them embossed it in white. The edges were then distressed with 'Frayed Burlap'.

I then coloured the 'JOY' letters from the stamp set from CC Designs with copics and have 3D-ed Baby Jesus in the manger. The other letters were plain chipboard thickers which I painted with 'Picket Fence' Crackle Paint and then the edges were distressed.

The snowflake is made from a Spellbinders die which I have covered with Art Glitter...awesome stuff!! I drew and cut out the little music notes...ha ha don't laugh!!

Hope I haven't bored you too much with all the little details....I never know how much to share or whether you have all fallen asleep before the end of the post!! LOL! But then some of you are maybe beginners and appreciate knowing how a certain effect was achieved. I certainly learnt lots of new stuff from others when I was starting out. I still do!!....ok...ok...I will shut up now!!!

Sugar Nellie DT - Penguin Love

Good Morning!! How are you?? We have had a long weekend with the kids off school and nursery yesterday. I feel relaxed and ready to go with the week now. Wish we always had 3 day weekends. So today I am going to have to do housework with vengeance!!

Today I have to show you a card with one of the new Sugar Nellie stamps by the ultra talented Diane Duda! This one is called Penguin Love...aren't they cute???

The penguins are coloured with copics and I have used stickles and Martha Stewart glitter for the ground. All the papers I have used are Magnolia. I just LOVE those papers!

Dena and Janny are also going to be showing cards today with this same image, so hop over to their blogs and be inspired!! They are truly talented gals! I can't wait to see what they have done with the image!

A Thank You Message!

Good morning my lovelies!

I just wanted to pop on today and say thank you very very much for all your lovely birthday wishes and cards. I am having a lovely day! The sun is shining and I have had a lovely chat with one of my sisters so far and had lots of Facebook messages!

I managed to get my breakfast in bed and open a few parcels before a mad rush to get off to school. I am treating myself to coffee and some morning telly and then later I off for lunch with some other ladies from the church. How good does it get???

For my birthday I treated myself to a light tent and some more yummy copics. So on your birthday if you had to choose..is it clothes or crafty stash?? Obviously in an ideal world we would love to have both but if you HAD to choose...what would it be??

The little thank you tag is made from grungeboard and grungepaper, distress inks and glimmer mist! So much fun to play about with! I am hoping to try some more grungepaper flowers on my blog soon.

I have used a Hero Arts Cling Stamp and stamped the main shape onto Grungeboard, cut it out and then inked with Distress Inks. The flowers are then stamped a couple of times onto Grungepaper, cut out, inked and then shaped with my fingers . Once you have the desired shape use your heat tool to set the shape! Ta da!! Gorgeous 3D flowers! Thne I have glimmer misted the flowers and added adhesive pearls.

I hope to add this tag to a card soon....so much to do ....so little time!

Quixotic Paperie # 2 - Stitching

Welcome back to the second Quixotic Paperie Challenge. It was great to see so many entries for our very first challenge. This week it is Rowena's turn to host the challenge and she has chosen the theme of stitching. Now this can be faux or real!

Now this challenge was an easy one for me as stitching seems to feature on almost all of my projects.

I picked one of the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps called Charlotte. I adore this quirky image! She was such fun to colour! The papers are 3 Bugs in a Rug 'Happy Birday' collection and I have machine stitched all the layers together. The sketch is a fabulous one which I followed from the Double Dutch Challenge.

Windswept with Janny and Dena

Hellooooo! How are we today?? Today I have a card to share with you that Janny and Dena are also going to be doing. We chose to colour Windswept from Sugar Nellie and we will see what we have each come up with. I love doing this each week with these talented girlies!

She is coloured with a mixture of prismas and copics. I have used copic for the skirt, shirt and skin. The rest is prismas. I usually decide what to use by what kind of colour shade I am wanting and what copics I have in my collection. They are not cheap so I am building my collection up slowly!

The papers are from a scrapbook kit called My Creative Scrapbook. I occasionally get this from the USA and they provide beautiful papers and co-ordinating embellies. I don't scrapbook but the kit is easily adapted to cards and I just love having everything all picked out to co-ordinate for you!

The flowers are from my stash. I have inked the edges with Distress Ink and spritzed with glimmer mist. The sketch is from Create4fun. Thanks guys for the great layout...I love it!

Sugar Nellie DT - Poinsettia Girl

Hello! How are you all today? Hope you all had a good weekend? Seems most of you were all at the NEC show! Looks like a wonderful time was had by all !

Well we had a lovely time at a local fireworks show on Saturday night which ended with me scraping someone elses car...YUK!! I have felt sick all weekend about it! People get so angry about their cars...Anyway I have spent today sorting it all out :(

Onto happier things.....a lovely package of wonderful new Sugar Nellie stamps arrived on Friday! Have you checked out all the new releases at FunkyKits?? So much to choose from and something for everyone! This month there are new releases from Mary Hall, Diane Duda, and Leanne Ellis and all perfect for your Christmas cards and projects.

So for my DT card I have chosen to colour Poinsettia Girl from Leanne Ellis. She is coloured with prisma pencils and I have followed the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers. I have had some clear acetate snowflakes in my stash since last year which I painted with white acrylic paint and then I added glitter while it was still wet. The papers are MME ' Be Merry' and the sentiment is Whiff of Joy.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge

Well it has been such a long time since I entered the Whiff of Joy Challenge, but I have got some of last years stamps from them that I just adore, 'Charlie and the Snowman' being one of them! I really enjoyed working with the sketch and I have coloured Charlie with copics but I have done the background with prismas. Hopefully you can see I have glittered the snow on the ground.

The papers I have used for this card are MME 'The Merry Days of Christmas' and I have distressed most of the edges. The stars are plain wooden stars you can buy at Quixotic Paperie which are so much fun to alter. I have painted them with 'Picket Fence' Crackle paint and then once dry I have painted with Shimmerz Blingz. Excuse my squint metal sentiment....funny hoe you only notice these things once the photo is uploaded!

I am quite happy to be posting this in the evening when it is dark outside..why ..??? An early birthday present arrived for me today and being impatient I opened the box and used it! I'm sure you can guess I have got a light tent!! I was getting disappointed in the quality of my photos during these dark, dreary days and I am very pleased with the result now!

Well what have you got planned for the weekend?? We are off to a children's birthday party in the morning and then a fireworks display in the evening and on Sunday after church we are out to friends for lunch! Should be fun!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 23 - My Sketch!

Good morning and welcome to another Sugar Bowl Challenge and this week it was my turn to draw the sketch and I chose the theme of 'Thankfulness'. So for this you could make a 'Thank you' card or you could make one for Thanksgiving if you are one of our friends across the pond, or make a card to give to someone you are thankful for!

I chose to make a 'Thank You' card and I coloured one of the fabulous Gorjuss girls from Set 1 called 'Sent with Love'. She is coloured with copics. The papers are all Cosmo Cricket ' Earth Love'. These papers are just full of my favourite earthy colours.

I have made one of those e, ribbon and wooden brads are from my stash!

Quixotic Challenges #1 - Birthdays!

Welcome to the very first Quixotic Paperie Challenge! This week our theme is Birthdays, as our very own Elaine is celebrating her own today!

My card today features one of the new releases from Ladybug and Friends and is aptly called 'Birthday Surprise' called and is available from Quixotic Paperie. She is coloured with prisma pencils. I didn't have any bling to match my colours so the adhesive gems are coloured with a copic marker to match!

The papers are Fancy Pants 'Summer Soiree'. I have made the bow using the Bow Easy which is available from Quixotic Paperie. Elaine sent us all one to try and if you look back at my cards you will see I rarely use a bow..why?? ..because I can't!!! Now, I have to say I made this bow after my first time using it and I love it...it stays in place and doesn't come undone as I am sticking it down. I am really pleased with how professional it looks! You might just be seeing a few more bows on my cards now! I have followed the sketch from this weeks Mojo Monday!

Surprise!

Hello my crafty friends! I hope the weather with you is better than here. We are drowning in rivers of rain!

However once the kids are into school it is nice to settle down into a 'housey' kind of day. Do you know what I mean?? The heating on, lights on, a cup of coffee, a bit of housework and a bit of crafting. Mmmm..sounds good!

The card I have to show you today is one of Mo's images and it is the free one she gave away on her PCP group for having 500 members! Go MO Go! Also today Janny and Dena have also made a card with the same image. When we all saw it we loved it!

She is coloured with copics and I have added stickles to the confetti. The sentiment is a rub-on and I found the square brads in my stash! A little bit of crochet ribbon between the layers and that is it!

Not much else to this card..I have left the image large to take centre stage ...no patterned paper on this one!!

If you have time go and check out Janny and Dena's cards..I always love what those girls come up with! You won't be disappointed!
