Sugar Bowl #26 - Lilians sketch

Good morning everyone and it is nice to be back again. Feels like December has passes in a whooooosh. I know I won't be the only one who feels like this.

The last few days for us has been fairly chilled. The snow and ice has made it really time consuming and such a lot of effort to even get out the door. I am so thankful that I bought the boys sallopets a couple of years ago. They have been on every day since the snow began...about 18th Dec!!

Well back to the job in hand today! Today is the start of the Sugar Bowl Challenge number 26 and this week the very lovely Lilian has drawn us the sketch and she has cosen the extra option of NEW.

I have coloured one of the new baby collection stamps called Callum which is available from Funky Kits. He is perfect as a new baby card or as a 1st Birthday card. I have used copics to colour and K & Co Small Wonders papers.

For the sentiment I have used a rub-on beside the image and little mini alpha stickers.I have also used some plain old garden twine to add on the charm....gives it a bit of a masculine twist!
I hope you manage to have time to join in with us over the next fortnight, as the prize for this challenge is the new, yet unseen, 'Snowy Times' stamps from Mary Hall. They sound gorgeous !! Perfect for all this winetry weather we are having.

Sugar Nellie DT - Isla

Hellloooo my peeps! What is happening with you today?? Well the snow here just keeps coming! It is a winter wonderland....must be 3-4 inches deep at least. My dear boys are with their Grandparents and I supposed to be retrieving them tomorrow weather permitting. I miss them heaps. The house is so quiet! On the plus side I have made my pudding for Christmas day, wrapped all the pressies, and have a fairly clean and tidy house :)

So I thought I would show you a card today...probably my last one till after Christmas. I have finished making Christmas cards...I am ready to move on now and put all the glitter away for a while. So the new Sugar and Spice Collection from Sugar Nellie are perfect to kick start the new season of crafting! I went for making a Thank you card using Isla. I followed the sketch from last weeks Mojo Monday and used the fabulous colours from this last Challenge from Colour Create: pink , burgundy and ivory. Gorgeous!

I thought I would share a few photos with you! The first is the view from our upstairs bedroom.



This was taken when we went out for an evening walk a few days ago...the boys were so excited. Jude's face says it all!

Loving Christmas Wishes

Posting twice in two days!!! Now I am just showing off! LOL!

I made this card at some point over the last two weeks but was just lacking energy to blog it!

I have coloured one of the new Tilda's from this years collection with prismas and have used some of the gorgeous MME Signature Christmas papers.I followed the sketch from last weeks Friday sketchers, but am now too late to enter it. The label ticket is also a magnolia stamp from last year and the flowers are all from my stash. I created a little mistletoe bunch using a fern punch and some little white pearls.

Thanks for popping by. I hope to get around to some blog hopping today now that my energy is returning, as well as doing all the chores around the house that are yelling at me to be done.

Anyone got snow?? WE have had snow showers on and off all morning...YEAH!!

Quixotic Challenge # 7 - Lace

Oh wow..I am so thrilled to be back with you. It feels like an age since I last chatted with you all.

Thanks sooo much to all of you who sent me good wishes. It is much appreciated.

I THINK I am just about fully recovered. Sinusitus turned into full blown aches and shivers and that meant a few days curled up on the sofa...well as much as you can with a husband working offshore and 3 kids!

Are you all very busy? How are the Christmas preps coming along? I have had to curtail my plans that I had for making my own Christmas crackers and hand making all my gift bags.....think all of those will be shop bought. But that is ok! Christmas is a time for family and enjoying them ...not stressing about everything being perfect.

Right onto the business of today...today we are now onto out 7th Quixotic Challenge and Carole has chosen the theme of lace.

I have chosen to colour this cute Shepherd from Sarah Kay which is available from Quixotic Paperie with 20 % off! He is coloured with pencils and a little bit of stickles for the star! I have followed the super sketch from Everybody Art Challenge.

The papers are ones I have had since last year from Flair and I adore them. They have beautiful script background and verses from the Bible. Most of them have been hidden but I will decorate the inside with the papers where they can be seen a bit better. The sentiment is computer generated!

For my lace option I have used some brown crochet ribbon and I have also used a wooden star and painted the edges with crackle paint, both available form Quixotic Paperie.

Quixotic Challenges is going to be taking a 2 week break so you have plenty time to enter this months draw for the prize.

missing???

Hello everyone...

Just a wee quick drop in to say 'Hi'. So sorry I have nothing to show :(

I have been feeling really rough the past few day...a bad dose of the cold and it has floored me! Whenever I get a cold I always get hit by Sinusitus and I can't do very much for a week!!

Anyway, I will give you a brief chat of what I have been up to. On Saturday I was down at Simply Create teaching my second class there. I thoroughly enjoy doing them. I wasn't sure whether teaching classes would be my thing but the ladies that come along are so lovely and so industrious!! They do everything I tell them...most unlike when I was teaching a class of 9 and 10 years olds!!

Jacqui's shop is such a pleasant environment with so many tempting goodies!

This week has just been full of Nativity plays...I've been to 2 and the 3rd is tomorrow. What a laugh today. My 3 year old was playing Joseph. He had no lines to say but just had to point at baby Jesus at the correct part in the play. Anyway at that point he was lying face down on the ground with his costume almost off! I think he got a bit of stage fright! But that was nothing compared to the 2 shepherds having fisticuffs over a fluffy sheep! What a hoot it was!

After tomorrow things are looking distinctly quieter and I am looking forward to sing all those lovely stamps I have bought for Christmas cards and not had a chance to use yet!!

Whiff Of Joy - #58

Good morning! Just a quickie!

I am trying to blast through making my cards and here is one I made earlier using the fabulous sketch by Marga from Whiff of Joy. I am not happy with this card...can't put my finger on it but it will do! I have quite a few more I want to make so I am going to have to learn how to be clean and simple.....I just can't do it!

I have used the image called Wee and the Christmas Tree and it is coloured with prismas. I knew I wanted a softer look for this image. I have added little gems on the tree...looks lovely and sparkly IRL! Papers are all Bo Bunny and the December stamp is from Tim Holtz. yup...I know what it is ..this card just doesn't flow for me...tooooo bitty. I will keep it beside me for a few days and it will come to me later what I need to do to change it!

I am off down to Simply Create in a wee while to teach my Winter Song class. Can't wait! Jacqui' shop has such a lovely atmosphere and it is a pleasure to teach there. I am off now to pack my kit and get organised.

Sugar Bowl #25 - Lilian's Sketch

It is time for another Sugar Bowl challenge and this week we have the honour of using a sketch from the lovely Lilian with the extra option of your favourite colour. Easy!

This week we have a Christmas special and Karen is kindly donating 12 Sugar Nellie stamps as the prize for this challenge! Yes 12...that is not a misprint! How cool is that!

You also have some extra time to enter this challenge...we won't be setting the next challenge until the 31st December so you have a full 4 weeks to get your entry in...no excuses now! LOL!!!

So onto my card. I have used an oldie but a goldie in my book. I just love Pip with Presents.....reminds me of my little cherubs..ha ha!!
He is coloured with copics, stickles and white ink pen. the papers are all Magnolia...my favourite Christmas papers this year. The layers have been machine stitched together.

The poinsettia flower is from last years stash..so don't know the brand and I have used a vintage brad for the centre. The crochet ribbon is from Quixotic Paperie.

Quixotic Challenge #5 - Charms

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to another Quixotic Challenge. This week Martine has chosen the theme of charms.

I have decided to make a tag card as seen previously on the Whiff of Joy Inspirations blog. I was needing a change from my usual square card. So thank you Marga for the lovely inspiration you provided over there. The basis for this card is a strip of cardstock 12 inches by 5 inches , scored at 3 inch intervals. Here is the link to the labelcard tutorial for those of you who might like to try this.

The papers I have used are all from Magnolia.The image is 'Snow Anya' and has been coloured with copics and lots of stickles. The snowflake charm, flowers and gem centres are all available from Quixotic Paperie.
The letters are gold alpha stickers which I painted with 'Brushed Pewter' crackle paint. I could go on about the little details but I will leave it there! If anyone wants to know something in particular they can just ask and I will share it with them!
Sorry the photos are not brilliant....my light tent is a little bit cramped with the long card! And not a jot of sunshine today...so dark and dreary.
