Sugar Bowl 39 - Lilian's Sketch

Good morning! Thanks for coming by to visit my little blog this morning!

Today is a Sugar Bowl day :) This week the lovely Lilian has given us a sketch to play with and the extra option of BLUE.

The prize this week is a set of the fabulous new Sugar Nellie Manga's due to be released next weekend! So you will be one of the first to get hold of them, plus a set of new Letraset Aqumarkers. Now isn't that a great prize??

For my card today I chose a Manga from the last release 'Rock Idol' and coloured him with copics. I have deepened some of the shading with prisma pencils, for example, on the trousers.

For my blue option I went with a deep kind of turquoise blue....and used the fabulous new Basic Grey 'Oliver', available from Quixotic Paperie. It has these great shades just right for a man/boy cards.

The card is fairly simply embellished. I did a bit of gentle distressing, added some ribbon twill, a guitar charm, some brads and little metal fasteners.

Thanks for popping by today. I hope you have time to check out the other girls gorgeous cards on the Sugar Bowl blog and of course have time to join in yourself !

Have a great day,
Judy x

This is stunning Judy. What a great image for a male card. I've just had to do a card for teenage nephew and this would have been perfect. Love that DP. I just got it in the post yesterday plus "Olivia". Couldn't resist it as apart from being gorgeous paper my grandson is called Oliver!

Ooohh You are truly a master with the boy themed cards! Your girly ones are beautiful but boy cards are so hard to do and you make it look easy! Gorgeous coloring and love the shading with Prismas :) Hope you are doing great! :)

Hi Judy,
what a gorgeous card you've created for this sketch at Sugar Bowl, I really love the colours and the details you've used to get this boy look!

Thanks a lot for your very nice comment in my blog, it's really fun to join in for the challenge with that kind of feedback :)

You also asked where I've bought the butterfly. I use them quite a lot, and buy them at a local store, but they are made at a Danish company called Karen Marie Klip. You can order from their web site, and here's the link for the page with the butterflies (thought I could help you find them, because everything is written in Danish ;)

Enjoy - and have a great Sunday when it arrives!
Hugs, Hanne:)
