Sugar Bowl 28 - Marlene's sketch!

It's Thursday and that means it is time for another Sugar Bowl Challenge! This week we are working from a fabby sketch courtesy of Marlene.

And if you choose to accept this challenge one lucky person will receive the new set of Manga's which as I type not even the DT have received yet!! So brand spanking new!!!

Now this sketch had me stumped for a while , I wasn't sure which direction to take it. then I had a brainwave and decided I wanted to use the portraits of 4 of the Elisabeth Bell images! Bingo!! Now if you go and check out the samples on the Sugar Bowl you will see I wasn't the only one who was thinking along these lines! LOL!!

So for my images I use Demure, Windswept, Daisy and Dolly and Peek a Bunny. I just inked up the top part of the image and then they are coloured with prisma pencils with copics for hair and skin.

The papers I have used are Fancy Pants 'Fancy-Free' Collection and for the border I used the Deep Edged Lace Martha Stewart Punch.

I had real fun making this card and am delighted at how it turned out from what was in my head to paper! Doesn't always work like that does it???

Thanks for stopping by today!

Quixotic Challenges - Flutter By!

Good Afternoon one and all!

Welcome to this weeks instalment of Quixotic Challenges. Martine has set us the theme of Flutter By! Incorporate a butterfly into your project!

Don't forget of you enter this weeks challenge you will be in with a chance of winning a goodie bag worth £15 of Prima products!!

I raked through my Quixotic Stamps and found this gorgeous Danni image and she has some little ittby bitty butterflies fluttering around her. Perfect! She is coloured with copics and I have used Shimmerz for the wings. I really need to get some more..it was all hard and lumpy!! Think I left the lid off for too long. I managed to scrape out just enough for her wings!

The papers are all Basic Grey 'Sugar Rush'. I think this is my favourite Basic Grey collection right now. The flowers are all from my stash and the butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch.
Thanks for popping along today! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Class at Simply Create - Warm Wishes

Good morning! I just wanted to share with you what we made at my class last night at Simply Create.

It was a really nice evening with yummy hot chocolate, delicious chocolates and lots of crafting!First of all we made a card using one of the stamps from Stampavie featuring a Mo Manning illustration. All the papers we used were Basic Grey ' Eskimo Kisses'. The image is coloured with prisma pencils and stickles. The card also features a little bit of faux stitiching and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The next project we created was made using a template from Papertry Ink called 'All Wrapped Up'. This time we use Nora from CC Designs and again we used basic Grey 'Eskimo Kisses'. I reall enjoyed this project....and really pleased with how it turned out :)

Again the image was coloured with prismas and I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the flourished sides of the image.

The flower was made from Kraft paper and retro flower punches all scrunched up with a little dab of white paint added to the edges.

And finally Jacqui very kindly provided everyone with some chocolate to pop inside their box!

Thank you for sticking with me this long!! Finally to finish I thought I would show you some of the ladies beavering away!
And another...this one has Jacqui in it...giggling away as she always does :)

Thanks for popping by!

Have a great Tuesday!

Sugar Nellie DT - Erin

Afternoon friends!!

Hope you are well and looking forward to the weekend. ooooo I do love a lesiurely morning :)) I am never promised a long lie...but not rushing around is enough for me!

My card today features the lovely Erin from Sugar Nellie. I have coloured her with copics. My papers and embellies all come from an old Scrapagogo kit. I ahve lots of these bright yellow boxes full of gorgeous stash...now I am determned to start using them up.....they are taking over!!! The papers are all Cosmo Cricket but from different collections.

The brads and buttons were also in the kit as well as the little speech bubble. I though it was kinda of cute and I put a blank one on the inside so the sender could finish off what she was saying...

I am going to be putting this into my Etsy shop later today...as I don't have any little girls to send it to right now :(

Well have a super dooper weekend. Enjoy whatever you are up to!

Catch you all soon!

Quixotic Challenge - Ink up an old stamp!!

Good afternoon!! How are we all today?? Good I hope!

Today I have to share with you my card for this weeks Quixotic Challenge. It is Kim's turn to pick the theme and she has asked us to ink up an old stamp. Well, if you are anything like me I have plenty of stamps that have not seen any love!!

I decided to go for a stamp that I bought just when Elaine was opening her shop and I loved the Helz Cuppelditch range. I bought them and then they just got old and dusty at the bottom of a plastic tub......

This one is called Home Sweet Home and is available from Quixotic Paperie.

So yesterday this gorgeous stamp saw the light of day!!

I wanted to go with a shabby chic/ country kind of feel with this card...kind of like a cute country kitchen. Do you see it??? Maybe ? maybe not??

Anyway...I coloured the image with copics and blended the background with a prisma pencil. I used some red gingham paper from Magnolia and distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz tool (which is seriously blunt!!...hence the rips).

I made a couple of lollipop flowers and added a buttons to the centre. I also did a teeny weeny bit of hand stitching to the sentiment and the image. To ruffle the ribbon I machine stitched down the centre and then just pulled the ends to get the scrunched up look. I liked the dimension it added to the card.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have time to visit the rest of the DT for their gorgeous samples. don't forget if you enter you will be in with a chance of winning the £15 prima goodies!

Catch you all later,
Judy x

A Lovely Day....

Hello lovely ladies! Thanks for taking the time to stop by today. The card I am showing you today is one if the samples I made for my demo day on Saturday.

I was kindly invited by Karen (Mrs. Sugar Nellie) to spend a day demo-ing colouring techniques at her shop in Elgin, Papercrafts Boutique. I had a lovely day and everyone was so warm and welcoming. It was great to see some familiar faces: Jenny, Karen and to meet lots of new ones! Waves madly to Erika!! Looking forward to seeing you all again in January at Jacqui's big party!

And to all you ladies who read my blog but are too scared to leave a comment...I would LOVE to hear from you!! You know who you are! Don't be shy!!

Thank you all for making my day so enjoyable and relaxing!

My card is made with some gorgeous papers from Do-Crafts and all the flowers and embellishments come from Papercrafts Boutique. The image is from CC Designs and is coloured with prisma pencils. The sentiment is from Penny Black and I have used a Spellbinders tag to cut it out.

Hope you are all well. I am sooo loving the sunshine and green grass...almost feels like spring!

Have a great day,
Judy x

Sugar Bowl - Kathy's Sketch

Good morning sweeties! Today I am back with another card for the Sugar Bowl! This challenge Kathy has drawn the awesome sketch and have chosen the option of 'distressing'. Yeah I love that option!

The prize this week is going to be a wonderful 'Pick and Mix' from Sugar Nellie! You have 2 weeks to get your entry in!

I have coloured the gorgeous Elise from the new Sugar and Spice collection with copics. I have also broken into my new scrummy MME papers 'Be Loved' which are available from the Quixotic Paperie. I have matted and then distressed all the layers with my Tim Holtz distressing tool. The flowers and pins are from my stash.

I hope you will pop by the Sugar Bowl and check out the wonderful creations from the rest of the sweeties! They always produce some awesome creations! I hope you will forgive me for being so absent from all your blogs this week. I feel a bit like a duck....swimming away calmly on the surface but underneath my legs are paddling like mad! I am very busy with behind the scene preparation for classes that I am doing! I promise to be back to commenting next week. I thank you all who stop by and leave comments regularly. You are much appreciated and I will return the compliment soon!

Quixotic Paperie - My Sketch

Happy Wednesday and welcome to another Quixotic Challenge. It was my turn this week to pick the challenge and I decided it was time for a sketch! I hope you can find the time to join us!!

I have gone with one of the very cute and very easily coloured Swiss Pixies from CC Designs. She is coloured with prismas and blended with Sansador. I have noticed that I did not put sparkle on her wings like I meant to....will go remedy that right away!!

The flowers are made from the retro flower punches and some other flowers from my stash.

It would be great to have you join in the challenge this week and your name will be entered into the draw for the monthly prize from Quixotic Paperie.

Have you seen the awesome new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps now available from Quixotic Paperie?? Fabulous, quirky and they look like a dream to colour. I shall be using some of them really soon!

A quickie from me today. I have my lovely little sis with me and I don't want to ignore her too much!

Chat soon,

Sugar Nellie DT - Web Knitter

Well hello there my lovelies! How are we today?? We are just enjoying a leisurely Saturday...probably most of it will be spent indoors ...except to run out the house to get milk and bread. Yesterday morning it was -14.5 degrees Celsius whilst taking the kids to school! Brrrrrr...

So if I don't have to go out today...I won't!!

I want to share with you today one of the BRAND NEW digi stamps from Sugar Nellie. Isn't this such a beautiful image?? This one is called Web Knitter and it can downloaded instantly!! YEAH!! I just printed this image off on my printer and let it dry for a couple of hours and then I was able to colour it with my prismas and Sansador. I stamped a little vintage text on the corners and added rock crystal stickles to her wings.

I also broke open one of my new Basic Grey 'Origins' pad which I bought from Quixotic Paperie. I just loved the browns, yellows and greens in this pack. Not normally my go to colours but in this combo they are just stunning! I also used my new MS punch to make the lace strip. I can see this being used a lot!! I forget what it is called.

I think I am able to enter this into this weeks CCT challenge as I used quite a few of my NEW crafty stash!

Thanks for stopping by and I love reading all your comments!

Craft Stamper Heart to Heart

Here a couple of sneek peeks of my project that is now in the Feb issue of Craft Stamper. If you want to see the whole article you will have to get it ...hee hee!!

It is kind of Valentine themed but it can be adapted for any occasion I think.
Thought I would also show you our mode of transport to school these past couple of days! I am very grateful that the school has managed to stay open despite the couple of feet of snow! AnywayIi am certainly working off those extra calories from Christmas. I arrive home sweating but with very cold toes :)

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are warm and cosy :)

Quixotic Paperie Challenge # - marshmallows, chocolate and cream!

Good afternoon and finally the kids have managed to go to school today. I pulled them on a sledge! How cool is that? It was some workout I tell you...no need for the gym!

So onto the business of the day! Welcome to the first Quixotic Paperie Challenge of the New Year. Rowena has chosen the scrummy combination of chocolate, marshmallows and cream. You can feel free to use this as a colour combo or as an idea starter to make a gift containing a Hot Choc sachet. You choose!

As always there will be a random winner chosen from all the entrants this month to receive £15 of prima goodies!

I chose to colour one of the new Miss Anya 'Love' collection . She is coloured with prismas. I don't know why but I always reach for the prismas with the Miss Anyas. I love the soft look you can create. I chose to go with the colour combo option for the challenge so I rummaged about and found some Basic Grey 'Blush' papers that co-ordinated nicely.
I have used some of the lovely Prima lace and embellished the card with flowers, a punched swirl, a Tim Holtz ticket and a vintage keyhole.I hope you have time to check out the rest of the DT's work...always inspiring!!

Thanks for popping by and make sure you stay safe and warm today ( for those of us in the Northern hemisphere!). Stay home and create :)

Hugs

Sugar Nellie DT - Mackenzie

Good morning and my first posting of 2010!

Happy New Year to you all and thank you so much for all your support over the last year. I have thoroughly enjoyed the creative journey with you!

I am looking forward this year to learning new skills and techniques and improving my photography and colouring skills.

This year I would also really like to develop my ETSY shop. I really enjoy being part of that creative community...they are all so supportive and great at handing out advice. I enjoy that my hobby can bring in even just a small amount of income. After being a SAHM for nearly 10 years...it feels great to be contributing...even though most of it goes back into supplies!!

I would love to know what you would like to achieve in 2010! I have a few personal goals ...I may share them sometime.....

My card today is another of the cuite girls from the Sugar and Spice collection over at Sugar Nellie. They are perfecting for making those fresh bright Spring cards. I chose to colour Mackenzie ( love that name for a girl!) with prismas. It looks from the photography that it isn't blended very well ( see what I mean about improving it!), but IRL if looks very blended. How does that happen??

I have chosen to go with the colours from this weeks Colour Create Challenge, Lemon and Lime, with the extra option of spring flowers. The papers I have used are all Cosmo Cricket 'Earth Love' and all the layers have been machine stitched together. The sentiment is a rub-on and the gorgeous pearl brads are from Quixotic Paperie.

So onto some news.....Sugar Nellie is now stocking DIGI stamps...wooooo. Great prices and instant download.....no waiting for Mr.Postie! There will always be rubber, but now there is a choice! Go check out those gorgeous designs now...I have my pencils at the ready :)

Also, have you seen the Sugar Nellie blog makeover??

Thanks for stopping by today.
