Look what I made!

On Friday night I bravely took the plunge to go to a sewing class at Simply Create. Now I know that I sew on my cards pretty much daily, but for me it was quite a plunge to start sewing with fabric!

Well, the class was lead by the lovely Anne, who is a whizz at all things stitchy!  We set to work right away making a Shabby Chic Cushion. I was so proud at the end of the night to come away with a fabulous stylish cushion! And I can't believe I made it all by myself :) Thank you Anne for being so patient!

This shows you the chenilling (??) effect we created on the centre panel of the cushion.
And this is the raggy effect you created by lots of cutting into the fabric and then washing it. I am delighted with my make :)

Now I just need to invest in a decent sewing machine !!!

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!

Blimey Judy this is just such a beautiful make! I cant believe youve not sewn before!!

I had a good old close up of your top shot and was drooling!

I love the texture on it and the raggedy seams just finish it off to absolute perfection!

What a perfect gift it would make too!

Love it!

Love the colours & the co-ordination with furniture etc..... looks like an inspiration photo for a card challenge. I do like that chenille effect too - such texture & I can't get over how different yours & Kath's are, they're such individual items.

Good for you girl!!!! NO STOPPING YOU NOW!!! I have sewn since I was about 10 years old or maybe a tad younger and it is a daily thing in my life. It's like card making. IN THE BLOOD... I quilt and that takes time and lots of love but can be done while with my family out in front of the tv.

It's good to hear from you dear... LOVE LOVE LOVE your pillow. Can't wait to see the next thing you do..
hugs, Janiel
