Spring Cleaning!

Spring seems to have arrived a lot earlier than normal in our chilly northern parts of the world. Not that I am complaining.  Yesterday was a balmy 17 degrees Celcius. Wow! That is better than it sometimes gets in July.

So I don't know about you but I love to think about Spring being a great time cleaning and getting rid of the old. It is lovely open the windows wide and let in some cool fresh air into the house, hang the washing on the line and watch it blow, take a walk outside and feel the gentle warmth and light of the sun on your face and even wash the windows and clean all the winter grime away.

Last week we gutted the boys bedrooms and moved furniture around to suit their growing bodies and changing interests. We managed to collect 3 black sacks full of old clothes, toys and books to go to charity (have they even noticed???). How refreshing and cleansing that felt. I think now each room of the house needs the same treatment. Oh how we gather stuff! How good it is to get rid of the 'stuff' we accumulate. It is good for the soul!

Ok now I need to practice what I preach and go clean and tidy while the sun is still shining! Who knows how long this lovely mild weather will last but I don't want to miss a minute of it!

Great chatting with you!

The crocus & snowdrop photos are gorgeous - spring is behaving very oddly down south - our bank of daffodils isn't out yet but the shoots are there. Happy Sorting.

I am obviously still on Scottish time as I have started my spring cleaning too although spring is a long way off here! love your photos, it is so nice to see washing on a line (not allowed here, stick in the muds)!
